  1. Had an awesome day Monday on a local lake tournament. Haven't fished the lake all year. We went out and caught 18 pounds with a 7.2 pound kicker. Which is amazing for this lake considering the biggest fish so far this year was a 7.8 pounder and it was caught in the spring. Won big bass and overall. Caught all the fish on a flat point on a xcalibur 1 knocker rattle bait. I can't figure out how to upload pictures but it's the fish in my profile picture lol.
  2. i havent bought a jig in at least 3 years. I started making my own with my dad and i will never buy another. you can make EXACTLY what you want and i feel pretty accomplished when i catch a kicker on something I made.
  3. Favorite: flipping and pitching (jigs, T-rigs) Least Favorite: spinnerbait i cant stand just reeling something in, i like to feel and work the bait
  4. i use 50lb braid for my swimbaits
  5. nice! love hooking into a big fish in a place you think is stunned!
  6. Today while i was fishing an old farm pond with some big bass in it i was using a craw colored crankbait and felt a bump so i lightly set the hook and started pulling dead weight, so i thought i had caught a stick or something but as i got it close to the bank it started pulling. it ended up being a big snapping turtle luckly he came unhooked without me having to remove the bait, he was actually hooked in the mouth too so i guess that crankbait looked appetizing lol.
  7. jig, senko, craw or beaver bait
  8. my deep cranking setup was rather cheap and works great for me. i picked up a daiwa lexa 4.9:1 on TW for $60 and put it on the powell diesel 705cb glass rod. $140 setup that works great IMO
  9. depends on the crankbait, for squarebills you could get away with using a 7.1:1 as long as you arent reeling very fast. but i would use a 6 to 1 for all around cranking. a 7 would be to fast for anything diving more than 6 feet.
  10. i know this isnt one you mentioned but those are both $100 and you can get a daiwa tatula on ebay for about $100 maybe a little less brand new shipped. the tatula is a much better reel then the two you mentioned in my opinion
  11. TW got me on the 4th of july sale. Okuma guide select big bait 7'11 heavy Powell 705cb glass crank rod Daiwa lexa 4.9:1 300yd spool of 50lb power pro 300yd of 12lb sufix elite 300yd of 20lb sufix elite swimmin flukes 10pk split rings d**n you 15% off temptation
  12. i use 20lb sufix elite unless im pitching in heavy cover of punching then i use 50lb power pro
  13. ive had good luck on pb&j
