  1. My dad and grandfather started me right out on spinning gear. Had some kind of blue ultralight rod and a Mitchell reel.
  2. I use a Spiderwire sling pack for when I fish from shore.
  3. I was at Walmart today with my wife. Needed to get wipoer blades when she asked if I was going to check the fishing clearance section. In the clearance rods I found a Abu Garcia Ambassadeur S 5500 rod and reel combo with no price tag. The sign said $40. I asked the guy what the price was and he said someone put it in the bin by mistake. He then said heck with it, $40. So I bought it. Regular price was $90.
  4. If you have a Dick's nearby, go and buy the Shakespeare Agility UL combo. Nice outfit for under $40. I have actually caught more Bass than Trout on it. But then I caught my PB Trout (26", 6.5#, Brown) on my Bass rod.
  5. I like the store in Hamburg, PA. It's 250,000 square feet. Yes they could change the organization of the fishing department, but it is good. Been to the BPS in Harrisburg and wasn't impressed. It was more expensive than Cabela's and didn't have the selection either.
  6. The trout magnet website has videos on how to fish them.
  7. No clue about Academy, but if they are the same as Dick's, Cabela's and BPS they are probably made by the same company.
  8. I have already been in the Lehigh when they released. Was in waste deep and never noticed the water rising until it was seeping over the top of my chest waders.
  9. You have to play it like I did. That one was in an ad for $39.99. My wife and I drive out to get it. Dept. Manager says it was never in stock. My wife says " we drove all the way out for a bagvyou never had"? He tells us to go find an equal value regular pricedbag. Boom, I walk out with the large Advanced Angler with 6 boxes for $39.99
  10. 26", 6.5# Brown on a 3" jointed Rapala. 18", 2# Brown on 6" jointed Rebel in Rainbow pattern. That's a couple from this year. The upper mouth on trout are very hard. I hooked into a Rainbow that was around 28" and 10#'s. Reeled all the way in and as I was going to net from the tail end, lifted his head out of the water and threw the hook. That was on Power Bait. The next day I watched him do it to another guy.
  11. Do a replica now and one after he catches it again. Show the stages of growth.
  12. I use a Cabela's Large Advanced Anglers tackle bag. They also have magnum and super magnum sizes.
  13. Beautiful Tiger! The color of the markings is outrageous.
  14. I started experimenting using flies with a spinning reel and casting bubbles.
  15. Promised Land , Lake Shahola.
  16. Dick's is at$6.99 for a pack.
  17. The 1,450 acre lake I fish as regular launches as well as lots and grassy launch areas strictly for paddle type craft.
  18. Give a look at Rippin' Lips rods and combos. I bought the 7' 6" MH spinning combo as my first cat rig. Definitely big enough for where I live and also good for North Carolina.
  19. With my canoe and trolling motor I prefer smaller lakes or horsepower restricted. The smaller lakes are electric only or unpowered and the 1450 acre lake I fish is HP restricted and has four launches.
  20. I use it as leader for my Catfish rod. I wanted 30# but without my glasses I bought 50#. I'll be set for when I go to NC for some cat fun.
  21. Is she sleeping in the car with va Coach tackle bag?
  22. Prefer to fish alone unless my Brother is in town. We have a great time together.
  23. Fishing for years and got my first Chub yesterday, Creek Chub that is.
  24. I just went through the list of restricted horsepower and non-combustion engines and see that there 12 lakes not 5 like I originally thought within an hours drive. Now I really know I went the right route with the canoe.
