  1. I added it to my cart at Amazon. Thanks!
  2. I lost two today, both times they busted the surface my baits popped out, one was was a solid 3lbs+ I had started with a new scrounged head with a fluke and caught a small pickerel and got snagged once. I checked the hook but seemed ok. I was thinking it may have gotten bent or dull from the snag. I suck at sharpening hooks. Any methods you all like? Thanks.
  3. Super Fluke Olive and black jig with Rage Tail olive and orange craw trailer.
  4. I have the LFS and the BB1 Pro and though the LFS isn't nearly the pro I think it's a great reel for the money. For $80 new, I would get it and not look back. I read a lot of reviews on the LFS before I bought it and the only negative I can recall was the drag loosening up after a year or two but so far haven't had any issues. I plan to purchase another one. It's very light and smooth. It casts nicely but not as far as the Pro bit fishing from a boat really don't think I need super long casts anyway. Originally, I bought the Quantum PT100, I just thought I'd like the flip option. I actually really liked the flip switch but after catching 10 fish, most 8-17", one 4lb over two days the gears started making noise, then developed a squeak so took it back and got the LFS.
  5. Of course I love top water but I'd say my favorite is the fluke on a weightless hook, weighted hook or scrounger head. I just love the thing. Least favorite is drop shot and Carolina.
  6. I used to bring bacon sandwiches but got to lazy. Now pretty much PBJ, water and Gatorade. If evening fishing - cooler of beer or a thermos of the mixed drink family
  7. Score a few legal bass in another body, making sure it meets the minimum, and cut them loose in the pond and I'd have a fish fry for the bluegill with bacon.
  8. Since blanking with top water, I'd jig around the cover with the rock first. Super fluke the entire pond, some weighted some not. Run a crank that looks like the sunfish right down the center and throughout the pond. And then I'd try a shaky head deep with a trick worm or craw trailer. If that doesn't work, TNT j/k lol.
  9. Hi, I've been lurking around a bit so decided to join up. Seems like a nice forum with good people. I can be a motor mouth and say dumb stuff so want to apologize in advance 8) I have a 16' Sylvan pontoon boat I keep on a neighbors dock, across the street from my house on an electric only 108 acre lake. It doesn't get much sweeter really. I can drink moonshine and stumble home if need be lol. With the boat so close I get to fish quite often. My neighbor is very cool to let me keep it on his dock and he gets to use it whenever he wants. He has a smaller boat so he uses mine for bigger parties. I'm married to the coolest most gorgeous woman and we have 3 boys and a girl. She lets me fish as much as I want as long as I keep up with what I need to take care of. She lets me know what those items are Anyway, thanks for having me.
  10. If you have a trolling motor you could attach to it. They make a transducer saver that you can use to keep it safe. I understand you might want to see what's going on while moving so may not be ideal. I've watched a lot of videos on youtube where they mount them right to the boat. I know you want to be careful not to place in an area that will get hit with bubbles. I've seen people attach them to then move it over 6" to avoid disturbance. Good luck
  11. I used to fish off the bank for years. I caught my first bass off the shore as the sun set and I could see them when they moved in. I ran a Rapala right past one and he just sat there. I cast out past him again and used a slow retrieve, got caught in a blade of grass and twitched it for a second and watched him hit it. I've been hooked since. Then I got a boat and its a game changer. My lake is a small 108 acre lake that's electric motor only. Now I'm fishing off a 16' Pontoon boat with 2 - 48 thrust Minn Kota rear motors and a Minn Kota Edge 70 thrust foot controller on the front. My sons all fish off the shore when I have a full boat or don't go out and they do pretty well. I struggled for a long time with using the rear motors and then used a 24 thrust on the front that I reversed the head but still had to keep adjusting to the point I felt like I just drove people around so they could fish. There's nothing like fishing off a boat with a foot controller trolling motor. I don't think I could go back to bank fishing, long term anyway. I would go with a jon boat. They're pretty cheap and you can deck them out, put a low thrust cheap foot controlled motor on it and hit it all day almost identical to a bass boat, as far as maneuvering it. A foot controller and depth finder and think it's as sweet as can be for the money.
  12. Last weekend, I was fishing alone, had been a slow day with 3 in the boat, when the sun popped out. Getting over a cold I decided to head in but saw this sweet tree in the water on the edge of the lake. I got my boat up close, dropped a chatter bait down and started jigging it. I brought it up to drop over a branch and a huge bass came up from the depth following the bait and just started to open her mouth. I'd bet at least 7lbs. She saw me and went over the branch and out of site. I dropped it and a super fluke all through the tree for another hour without ever getting a nibble. I'm going back this weekend to see if I can get her on the boat and this time I will have my tackle box where last time I just brought a handful of stuff. I could've cried lol.
