Please help me pick a fish finder for my PA 14
Hi guys! I am absolutely stocked! I got an amazing deal on a basically new 2019 Pro Anger 14. Now, to the next task of finding the right Fish Finder for my needs. Since I am bit of a newbie in this regard, I am hoping to get some inputs from the community on this. Requirements: * At least 7 inch * Down and side scanning * good, robust quality * Compatible with my hobie (I do not have the tools nor the know how to do a lot of custom install work. A plug and play approach with some minimal drilling, etc would be great.) * Price should be (including the battery, transducer ) under 1500 USD some options that stand out in my current research: * Hummingbird Helix 7 MSI GPS G3 NAV * Hummingbird Helix8 MSI+ GPS G3N --> What is the difference between 'side imaging' and 'side imaging +'. Is it that the last just goes deeper, but has the same clarity, etc.? * Lowrance Elite-7 Ti2 Fishfinder/Chartplotters * Lowrance Elite-9 Ti2 Fishfinder/Chartplotters Thanks all! Cheers, Seb.

Looking for a fish finder for my new 2019 Hobie PA14
Cool! Yeah, I will go with that unit as well most likely. Any suggestions for the installation? Any troubles fitting this into the Lowrance ready transducer box on the Hobie? Thanks man!

Looking for a fish finder for my new 2019 Hobie PA14
Thanks guys! I could go up a bit more if needed. I dont want to be frustrated in a couple of months when a couple of hundred bucks would have given me a much better option. Options that I currently consider: * Hummingbird Helix 7 MSI GPS G3 NAV * Hummingbird Helix8 MSI+ GPS G3N --> What is the difference between 'side imaging' and 'side imaging +'. Is it that the later just goes deeper, but has the same clarity, etc.? * Lowrance Elite-7 Ti2 Fishfinder/Chartplotters * Lowrance Elite-9 Ti2 Fishfinder/Chartplotters What are your thoughts?

Baitcaster to throw light tackle, but not BFS
What he says! I have the Steez CT SV which is essence the same reel as the Alpha CT! Great reel that can throw anything for me from 1/16 to 1 oz

Simms Transom vs Challenger
Yeah, decided to go with the Transom. Points that made my choice: * Better water protection. * Longer Jacket * Can be worn when it is warmer and additional layers can be added when it is cold * Material looks to be a bit more robust

Simms Transom vs Challenger
Hi guys, I am in the market for a rain suit that I will be wearing most of the time in Californian winters (rainy and relatively cold) for bankfishing but also for kayak fishing. Looking at the Simms Transom and Simms Challenger suits. I am wondering which one is the better deal (they are almost the same price right now). The Challenger which seams to have already good 'warmth' with decent water protection or the Transom which has superior water protection but does not have insulation which I would need to add through clothing under the suit. I am reading some reviews on the Challenger that say that the suit is not super water resistent. Would love to get some feedback from the community if possible. Thanks all!

Hobie PA 12 vs Hobie Outback with sidekicks
Thanks for your response. I tested the Compass as well and it is not as stable as the PA12 by quite a bit. Also it does has less storage room than what I would prefer.

Hobie PA 12 vs Hobie Outback with sidekicks
Hi all, I am in the market for a kayak (that I will need to car top on a Honda Civic). Since stability is ver important for me (standing up and also be able to get out in a bit rougher water), I am wondering which platform is more stable for me (6'3, 210 pounds). 2019/2020 Hobie PA 12 vs 2019/2020 Hobie Outback with sidekicks. Any thoughts or experiences on this would be very much appreciated! Thanks, Seb.

How 'warm' is the jacket? Would I need to wear additional clothes under it in the winter, or does it have sufficient insulation? Thanks.

My doctor said....
Everytime I research my symptoms on the Google's, I end up at tackle warehouse and the likes. Well, since I am here already might as well out in an order...

My buddy also said that!

Concept z reel
A buddy of mine has 2 of them. He says that they are a piece of trash. He had them both send in for repair twice. Absolutely not worth the price tag. Much better options available for that kind of money.

Seems like Ebay is charging sales tax for all its products. This makes ebay less attractive and will move (at least more of my spendings) to the local shops that are now more competitive. This sucks a bit, but I think it will benefit the local (US) stores, which I am ok with.

Which rod would you choose for skipping?
HI there, my Megabass Spinnerbait Special broke and I am getting it replaced by Megabass. I used this rod for mainly target casting in short distances and also for skipping jigs and plastics. I am wondering against which latest Orochi Model I should exchange it for (Jerkbait, Tour Versatile) or if I should sell it and go with a different brand. I am looking here especially at: * Shimano Expride A Casting Rod 6'6" Medium * Shimano Expride A Casting Rod 6'8" Med Hvy What are your thoughts? Thanks, Seb.

Lol! Had a quick check. I have gotten some of my NRX, AGS rods for less than these prices. NEW and shipped. Do some more research folks!

7’3” or 7’6” for jigs
Yeah, the length of the rod has the following impact (All things being equal): * the longer the rod the longer the cast * the longer the rod the more hook setting ability * sensitivity declines the longer the rod I would recommend you to go with a shorter rod in your case. I dont see any real benefit of 3 additional inches.
