If you want a light reel, I just bought a shimano aldebaran. I really like it a lot.

If you're looking to spend that kind of money, there are a couple core 50mg's on eBay. That's probably my favorite overall reel.

Good choice. Just keep the brake drum oiled and you shouldn't have any problems

I use it for pretty much everything except frogs (I use braid) . I actually just picked up 4 spools of it on sale at wal mart for $5 a spool.

I prefer the curado over the tatula. Just my opinion.

I haven't heard but maybe it's a curado MGL. That would be nice.

Looks like metal to me. I believe the only difference is the bearings.

I have had both and see no real difference in performance. I'd go with whichever one you can get a deal on.

Yeah sounds like a bearing to me also

I use my with 2 brakes on and the dial set on 2. That works well for just about any lure your throwing. Just make sure to oil the brake drum in the side plate.

I'll be using it mostly for moving baits so i'm not real worried about sensitivity.

I have the 7'1 med and to me it feels like a true medium . I haven't fished with it yet but so far I like it . Its pretty light wt. and balances very good with my citica 200E.

I just bought the new st. Bass x and I am very impressed. I also have fury which I like to. The bass x is lighter and well balanced.

I have two savvys and really like them. I just bought the new st. Croix bass x and I am very impressed with this rod . I think it might be the best $100 rod out right now.

I can't speak for the inferno but I have a 704 fury and I really like it . Its a very nice rod in the $100 range.

As far as the reel . I would say a shimano citica 200E. Best all-around reel for the money. In my opinion.
