  1. It is the rick clunn edition. The rod box situation is a bummer, but the bullets I was looking at didn't even really have a rod locker. The nitro is priced at 4500 with two stainless props, cover and freshly serviced trailer. Its so clean I could eat out of the bilge.
  2. The snell knot seems to help get the hook in the upper lip better.
  3. I am looking at purchasing a bass boat for next season. I have specifically been looking for a bullet 17v, but I found a nitro 170dc locally that is in like new condition for a really good price. I was wondering if anyone on here has fished out of one or owned one? I know its not going to have the build quality of a hand built boat, but for the price I think I could look past that. It is powered by a mercury 125, and has a motorguide 81lb thrust trolling motor.

Definitely my favorite soft plastic, they are my go to bait on a Texas rigs. The rage tail worms work awesome as well
  5. Look into raptor liner if you are going to go the bedliner route. The brands you find at autozone and similar stores are awful. I used the raptor liner to do the floors of my jeep, and it went on easy, and has held up great. It is also one of the only bedliners that is uv resistant. You can also control the texture of it by varying the air pressure while you are applying it.
  6. This is great advice, but I would recommend a mh with a 7:1 or faster for jigs
  7. I really like p-line floroclear, it has excellent manageability, and less stretch than mono.
  8. has anyone fished the steez ags rod with the carbon fiber guides yet? I was considering picking one up over the winter, but am curious to see how it compares to the archangel. They both are pretty similar in price.
  9. Didn't realize they used composites construction, thats a major advantage over other brands.
  10. I have the same reel on an *** 2, and its a really nice combo. I had the reel on an *** gen 1 previously and really liked that as well.
  11. Have you looked at bullets at all? Out of all the bass boats I have ridden in I was the most impressed by the bullet.
  12. order some swim jigs from siebert, you won't be dissapointed!
  13. I would be worried about the wood in the transom and stringer on a boat thats 25 years old. Its definitely worth the 3-500 to get the boat surveyed when you are spending that kind of money on an old boat. It would be a bummer to buy it and have the transom crack the first year you own it.
  14. Bluegill swim jig with a rage tail menace trailer has been killing them up here lately
  15. Just thread it on the regular way. It will tear your trailer up faster, which is why I only use the strike king jigs in a pinch.
  16. They make an awesome swim jig trailer, thats the only way I have ever used them. Watermelon w/red flake on a bluegill swim jig, or white w/ white swim jigs.
  17. I went to community college before attending the university I am currently about to graduate from. Community college is not really the new exciting experience that moving away to a university it, but it does save a lot of money, and there are fewer distractions. While at community college take classes that interest you, as well as things you can use in the future. Some basic auto repair and woodworking classes can save you a ton of money down the road when you can fix things yourself instead of paying someone.
  18. Just ordered a 7'11 *** 2, the longer the better for better hooksets on long casts, and controlling the fish around the boat.
  19. I own three presidents, and one supreme. The biggest noticeable difference is the flex in the stem of the president, it has a very slight flex under heavy load, where the supreme does not. I would assume most people on here are using these reels for finesse purposes so it really shouldn't be too much of a concern.
  20. call the dealer with the serial number, its usually found on a tag by the transom bracket. Mercury usually lists the year right on the tag.
