  1. One of the ponds that I regularly fish has some aggressive catfish, I haven't caught a bass out of it since early spring. Ive pulled out many 10-15lbs catfish out of it. Im starting to believe that they are the dominant predator in that pond.
  2. Rapala is one of my favorite brands, not only do they make lures that catch fish but they are very well crafted and aesthetically pleasing.
  3. I personally like using the hooks below, without the weed guard. I like them because the hookset is real simple, you pretty much just reel up the slack and lift the rod tip gently and they are on there good. I couldn't tell you anything in regards to the EWG affecting the action as I have been using these hooks forever, a regular gammy octopus hook works real good as well.
  4. Reeling in a nice fish on a light or ultra light setup is always a blast. Solid looking chunk
  5. Great catch, congrats on the new PB
  6. Those are some nice slabs, Ned rig strikes again.
  7. give the biospawn plasmatail or Zoom finesse worm, both in green pumpkin with chartreuse tail on a shakey head. I have no problem catching fish in stained water with this combo.
  8. I like watching some of the Texas bases anglers do their thing because I fish some of those lakes and ponds, I just like watching them as they progress and dissect their approaches.
  9. Just out of curiosity, how much did that cost to put in? You don't have to give any details you aren't comfortable with, I've just been curious as to how much it would cost to put in something similar.
  10. 9lbs channel cat, caught it with my ultralight setup. He was a scrappy guy, gave me a run for my money.
  11. slow down your retrieve on the soft plastics, slow it wayyyyy down.
  12. I fish a pond that is similar to this, I fished it like 4 or 5 times without catching anything, I finally decided to try some live bait and that got them biting.
  13. Siebert grid Iron brush jig, 1/2 oz in watermelon red
  14. Academy has 25% off of Zoom baits
  15. some good looking fish right there
