Can't quit catching catfish!
One of the ponds that I regularly fish has some aggressive catfish, I haven't caught a bass out of it since early spring. Ive pulled out many 10-15lbs catfish out of it. Im starting to believe that they are the dominant predator in that pond.

Got my first Rapala.
Rapala is one of my favorite brands, not only do they make lures that catch fish but they are very well crafted and aesthetically pleasing.

Wacky Hooks vs EWG Texas hooks
I personally like using the hooks below, without the weed guard. I like them because the hookset is real simple, you pretty much just reel up the slack and lift the rod tip gently and they are on there good. I couldn't tell you anything in regards to the EWG affecting the action as I have been using these hooks forever, a regular gammy octopus hook works real good as well.

Finesse Fishing
give the biospawn plasmatail or Zoom finesse worm, both in green pumpkin with chartreuse tail on a shakey head. I have no problem catching fish in stained water with this combo.

Dumb You Tube Fishing Stuff
I like watching some of the Texas bases anglers do their thing because I fish some of those lakes and ponds, I just like watching them as they progress and dissect their approaches.

How would you fish it
Just out of curiosity, how much did that cost to put in? You don't have to give any details you aren't comfortable with, I've just been curious as to how much it would cost to put in something similar.

Soft plastics
Im sure you mean something along the lines of the fishing care package stuff, if so then yea those aren't bad. I know a guy that ordered stuff off of them, it took a while for him to get it but he ended up getting his "bulk package" of soft plastics. http://www.fishingcarepackage.com/#!store/lsw5u

Any time I take my son (almost 3yrs) I usually have to bring him back crying because he does not want to leave the pond.

Anyone Having Early Season Trouble?
I have only been out a couple of times this year, but so far its just been small bass. Its a little frustrating but a small bass is better than no bass.

Help getting kick started with plastics and jigs in ponds
I was in a similar situation where I had never really leaned to fish soft plastics until late last year, I plan to do allot more fishing using them this year, solid starters for me were the zoom baby brush hogs, 7" Berkley powerbait worm and a ragecraw. I usually just go with a t rig but the rage rig works great with the rage craw. Good luck
