  1. Theres plenty of ponds under 1 acre that have + 5 pound bass in them.Keep the bass feed, check the water quality often, add some structure for the fish, and watch your bass grow to hawgs.
  2. Thats a tiger muskie for sure and one of the most beautiful ones I have seen.Looking towards to seeing you catch more nice tiger muskie!
  3. Caught a couple big snakeheads and big peacock bass this past weekend, way more fun than catching largemouth bass.
  4. Thats strange how gar are difficult to hook on artificial in certain parts of the country yet easy in South Florida.

  7. I fish the same places at night that I fish during the day.
  8. Caught my first largemouth bass over 2 decades ago and my grandfather was the one who taught me the fundamentals of bass fishing.
  9. Dead sticking soft plastics is a very effective technique that has been around for decades and this technique works well in highly pressured areas.
  10. Have caught hundreds of quality sized bass with the following setup; 6-7 foot heavy action rod 30 pound test braid Live Target hollow belly frog,Booyah pad crasher frog, etc
  11. Have done these challenges, they are fun. Here's a couple fun challenges I have done while bass fishing; Catch a 24 inch,+7 pound bass on 2 foot ice rod Catch 3 bass at the same time on a jerk bait Catch a bass on a bare hook Catch a bass on a breadball Catch a bass on a hotdog Catch a bass on a piece of gum Catch a bass on a gummy worm Catch a bass under 3 inches Catch a bass on a handline Catch a bass on a long stick you find and tie enough line where you can flip it a couple feet from the shore
  12. Caught a extremely thick 40'' inch carp this past weekend with regular sandwich bread. Corn is another good bait for carp as well.
  13. Try to learn from every fishing trip you have and you will gain knowledge. Fish with people who are very experienced in bass fishing, it will shorten your learning curve. Be willing to travel to new locations so you don't get too comfortable in a spot you are good at already.
  14. Seen this meme before, its one of my favorites.
  15. Nice catch
  16. Congratulations on your new PB.
  17. Congratulations on your new Maine PB
  18. Congratulations on your new PB.
  19. Not all fish have the same mercury levels in South Florida canals and the amount of mercury in a fish depends on a lot of factors, such as size of fish, age of fish,if the fish is a predator or herbivore, location of where the fish was caught, etc.California has a huge problem with mercury and other chemicals in fish, especially in Southern California(last time I went to California there where lots of do not eat fish signs by the ocean,Florida does not have these signs by the ocean). A person could still eat certain portions of bass, peacock bass, snakehead, other freshwater fish if they wanted to and be ok, but I rather not take that risk with freshwater fish.I rather release freshwater fish and eat the saltwater fish, lobster, shrimp, etc that I catch instead. Snakehead are very similar to bass since they will eat almost anything that will fit in their mouths and that's one of the reasons why I enjoy snakehead fishing so much.My favorite way of catching snakeheads is with frogs and spinnerbaits. As far as fighting ability a snakehead fights much better pound for pound than any largemouth or smallmouth bass can ever fight, especially when it comes to the initial hit and first couple runs. These fish are a blast to catch and I am glad we have snakeheads in South Florida!
  20. Congratulations on your first Muskie. They sure are fun to catch on light tackle.
  21. Your bass should be over 10 pounds with these measurements( Length * Length * Girth / 1200= estimated weight of bass). Congratulations on your new PB!
  22. Have caught lots of bullseye snakehead but I would not eat them since they have high levels of mercury and other contaminants in their meat, especially in the canals I fish for them.
  23. Try tarpon fishing in South Florida. Its common to only land one out of every 2-6 fish you hook, if you are experienced at big game fishing. As for me, I have lost lots of fish(including big bass) throughout the years and I feel losing these fish has made me a better fisherman in the long run. Always make sure your drag is set well, the fishing line is in good condition, the hooks are needle point sharp, retie knots often, and be careful when landing the fish, since many times a fish throws out the hook when its right next to your hands.
