  1. Like others have said, drink lots of water to stay hydrated. Wear lose clothing and try to fish in areas with shade if possible.Go under a tree or a area with shade when you feel hot and don't over exert yourself when it's hot.Heat exhaustion and heat stroke is no joke,so you have to be very careful when fishing when it's hot outside.
  2. Like I said,I am blessed to have seen that black puma or black panther with my family over 20 years ago. Some random guy online cannot change that, especially one who is not a Biologist with extensive knowledge of these animals.
  3. I agree with you 100% on this.Too many times fishermen are way too focused on catching fish and don't appreciate their surroundings.I always take breaks in my fishing trips to enjoy nature, and it truly enriches my fishing trips more than just catching some fish. As the saying goes, "don't miss the forest for the trees".
  4. A fact is a fact and it can be discussed but it doesn't change the outcome of what happened. It was well over 20 years ago when my family and I saw that big black puma or black panther. It could of also been a black jaguar, but whatever it was it definitely was a big, black predatory cat over 100 pounds.I feel blessed to have seen it person, since it was an extremely rare animal that many will never see in their entire lives.
  5. Correct, it is extremely rare and animals like these will only become more rare as time passes since their populations are decreasing thanks to mankind's intrusion into their habitats.
  6. It's definitely possible to see a black puma ,but probably extremely rare(even more rare these days with increased deforestation).Pumas and other big cats are masters at hiding so who knows how many black pumas exist.Down here the Biologist don't even know the exact number of Florida Panthers that are alive. If a Biologist doesn't know,a regular person knows even less. There's even a possibly their could be other big cats down here like Jaguars,it is South Florida after all where so many exotic species have been introduced.
  7. Lots of good advice given here.I learned the vast majority of my fishing knowledge way before I even knew what a Internet forum was. This is why I and others that have fished so long put so much emphasis on putting your time on the water. If you want to join a club try to join a non- competitive club if it's available in your area. Even then ,your experience on the water is far more valuable than anything else.
  8. I definitely recommend you visiting the Everglades on one of your vacations. Its a beautiful place with great fishing for several types of fish.Another animal I have seen in the glades that I haven't seen anywhere else in South Florida is Otters. They are awesome hunters and very fun to watch.
  9. Books and information on the Internet about bass fishing can help you,but it will never replace time spent on the water!
  10. This is a great workout and I highly recommend it to any athlete who wants to add variety to one's workout plan.
  11. I wasn't the first person to see it since my mother saw it first and she pointed it out to me.Other members of my family saw it as well. I saw this black puma or black panther in Virginia Key and it was walking on the edge of a forested area on a beach we where on. This happened +20 years ago and it is something I will never forget.
  12. Montgomery Gentry "Daddy won't sell the farm"
  13. Like others have said, watch where you step and wear a good pair of boots.Snakes usually only attack if you step on them, bother them,or get to close to them. This weekend I saw at least 3 cottonmouths(the biggest cottonmouth was over 4 feet long and thick)by the edge of the canal I was fishing at and they didn't bother me one bit.I made sure to keep a safe distance from them.Give them their space and you should be ok to fish with them around you.
  14. I can spend hours discussing all the strange things I have seen fishing in Florida.Have seen plenty of cars inside canals and lakes.Me and my family saw a black panther or black puma walking in front of us in a forested area shorty after hurricane Andrew hit. Seen monkeys, caimans, and other exotic animals in the everglades. Never a boring fishing trip down here!
  15. We got plently of +10 footers down here, and that makes the bank fishing a little more interesting to say the least.
  16. Spring/Summer is a good time to come down here for +100 bass days, as long as the water level is low enough in the canals. The Tamiami Trail canal and Alligator Alley canal are great spots.
  17. Awesome, catching bass on frogs is always a blast!
  18. You should visit the Everglades for one of your vacations, it happens often here when the water levels are low.
  19. Maybe those using drones are trying to find out new fishing spots by observing fishermen. Too bad for them that having a good spot does not guarantee them the same success as the fisherman they are observing with the drone.
  20. Very nice, if each bass sticker is 100 bass, this means you caught at least 3,500 bass in this boat.
  21. On days I get 100 bass or more I write it down on a piece of paper. I also write down days I get bass over 8 pounds. All this information goes in my fishing log to help me improve my ability to catch more and bigger bass.
  22. Just finished the Murph Challenge and got it under a hour.It was my first time doing this workout and the pullups was the hardest part by far.Going to do this workout more often since it's a great whole body workout.
  23. I wouldn't worry much, they will most likely reopen your favorite spot sooner or later.Try the main canal on Tamiami trail,it's loaded with big bass.Have caught my fair share of them in there.
