Bluegill on Lipless Crankbait?
Yes I have caught bluegill on lipless crankbaits, along with other lures meant for bass. They fight better than a bass of equal size and I would probably fish for them more often if they got as big as bass do.

Having BIG fun on closed golf course
Sounds like you had a great time fishing! Enjoy it as much as you can now, since before you know it other fishermen will start fishing these recently opened ponds and the fishing pressure will increase to the point they wont bite as much as they do now.

Gotta Love Em
I would of given him some fish for making me laugh with what he said.lol

How would you fish it
I would fish on and around the creek beds for sure along the areas where there's lots of baitfish. Fishing around that dock might be a good place to fish at nighttime as well.

Giant Largemouth Bass
Yep!!!You gotta be extremely patient to fish with big lures , especially swimbaits.I have caught plenty of +8 pound bass on small lures,at least small compared to the swimbaits I like to use. I have spoken to several crappie fishermen that have caught bass over +10 pounds from land on crappie jigs.Even the current Texas state record was caught on a crappie jig and this fish was +18 pounds. Wow that is one thick 21" bass to weigh 9 pounds. The average 9 pounder down here is 24-26" long. Bass are much more intelligent than most people give them credit for, especially Florida strain largemouth bass. Its a good tactic to use lures that most people don't use, especially in highly pressured waters.

Fish Culling
The only way it would make sense to let go the 14" largemouth bass and keep the 13" spotted bass is if the spotted bass was heavier. That or the author of the quote thinks it's more impressive to have a 13" spotted bass in that particular 5 bass limit than having another largemouth bass of slightly larger size than the spotted bass.

The Best bass I ever caught
I have many stories I can give, but I will give the story of me putting my cousin on his biggest bass to date. A couple months ago my cousin called me and asked me if I can take him fishing since he along with other members of my family where going to visit soon. I told him yes and spent the next week or so teaching him over the phone what lures to use and why. Fast forward, my cousin arrives and I take him to a lake where I have caught many big bass from. I tie the lure on his line, tell him how to fish it, and he gets a big bite in less than a hours time fishing with me.After a quick fight he gets the bass close to shore, I get in the water, and lip his 7 pound bass. I proceeded to take a couple pictures of him holding his bass, and quickly released it so it can be caught another day. You should of seen the smile on that boy's face it was priceless! Since then, my cousin has been fishing for bass every single weekend and I am happy I was the one who got him into this hobby.

Lost a big fish.....what's my next move?
I agree with the post above.Go back to the area you lost the bass and try other lures known for catching big bass.

Larger bass / prime location in a pond
Look for areas with lots of baitfish near deep water. The big bass should be close.

Help me become a better jig fisherman
Like others have said, adding a trailer to a jig helps draw more bites.

Can't catch the fish
Lots of good advice here ,definitely try as many different finesse techniques until you find the ones that work in your spot . Slowing down is a great technique for highly pressured fish, try fishing senkos this way, this lure is almost failproof. Another great tactic is using big swimbaits. You might not catch as many fish, but you will catch more quality sized ones.

My testimonial...
Try using finesse techniques.

Working on Becoming a Better Angler
This is one of the best pieces of advice anyone can give when it comes to fishing besides recommending someone to put in the time needed.Expensive gear is not needed, a good fisherman can catch big fish on a consistent basis on mid price gear.Being able to establish a pattern on any body of water is far more valuable than how much ones fishing gear is worth. I do this as well and it's helped me step up my fishing game drastically. I fish many public parks that are highly pressured to say the least ,and do extremely well in them. Makes it so much easier to fish on a boat or other spots I have that has less fishing pressure.

Record bass caught! Looking for reel to pair with reward rod
Congratulations! I would also recommend the Shimano Stradic spinning reel. I have one that is +10 years old and it still functions great.

Peacock bass
Caught a bunch of peacock bass earlier today on rapala x raps.Try to find open spaces between the aquatic vegetation and cast this lure there. Many times the peacock bass are waiting to ambush on the outside of the weed edges, just like a largemouth bass.If the area is too weedy you can use zoom super flukes as a good alternative.

what bass tactics/lures for inshore?
Over the years I have experimented with freshwater lures in saltwater and I have been surprised how well these lures work for saltwater gamefish. For example,I have caught snook, tarpon, snapper, jacks, etc on spinnerbaits, popppers, jerkbaits, flukes ,and other bass lures. One of my favorite multi-species lure that I recommend for both freshwater and saltwater is the rapala x rap.
