  1. That is a sharp rod, and reel of course. May I ask which site and the price of the major craft. I actually need a bait caster or spinning rod to throw 1/4oz crankbaits. I'm new to JDM rods and a lot of them like MB unless u get into heavy rods the majority of them are short. Would love to buy the MB destroyer addermine just wish it was available in something longer than 6' 11" Looking for a high end JDM spinning rod in 7' 2" to 7' 4" Med action for dropshot if anyone has any suggestions. If not then I'm gonna pick up the NRX 872S.
  2. Lol, no but I try. I currently spend about 160 days on the water and once I get a boat that will increase. But yes like many of us I'm guilty of just liking to buy tackle lol. More stuff I need to try and fish, thank god I'm heading to the lake in 2hrs.
  3. Braid to 2ft mono leader like almost all the pros. Very important when fishing topwater for long casts. And that's where the braid comes in. And remember when u twitch that bait that as soon as u twitch it to u that u immediately go back toward the bait w the rod tip as the bait needs that slack to move. And a loop knot is a must, straight to the eye of the bait.
  4. If u look above at my post of Memorial day tackle fish caught, all those fish were caught on a wacky rig. Hook being used is the Gammy wide gap in 1/0. But the 1/0 was used because the worm was skinny. IMO that hook in that sz is too small for a Senko diameter bait. For a Senko bait I use the Gammy wicked wacky hook, forget the sz but at least a 1/0. I use a medium fast action NRX rod 14lb Sunline Shooter Invisible line and when the fish starts to swim w the worm I cross his eyes w and overhead hook set. Whenever I start fishing a new technique it usually takes several different hooks and time on the water to figure out what works for me. Like anything fishing and tackle comes down to a personal preference as we all fish differently, hope this helps.
  5. So I haven't posted my latest haul of soft plastics, will do so later as I had to get ready for yesterday's tournament. But the first 4 fish were 4 of the 5 fish that netted me 1st place out of 52 anglers. I'm a co-angler and beat all the boaters and co's. The way we do it is catch and release so fish are measured and that measurement is a certain weight. This was 24lbs and change but I know it weighed more.
  6. The Jackall is nice, it's a 1/2oz but a much smaller profile than normal 1/2oz buzzbaits.
  7. What rod power and action do u throw your 3/4 & 1oz walk the dog topwater baits on? Thanks
  8. Which Plano boxes r those w the Shimano stickers on it? Would also like to see the inside of that swimbait box to see how it's configured or how u configured it and how it's used to hold baits, thanks man.

Those look awesome, definitely ordering a pair. Thanks for the link!
  10. Not sure if u walk it but that's what they are mainly designed to do, like a Yellow Majic or Rico.

Got my Aftco ninja shirt the other day in my TW memorial day sale box. And I love it, it's gonna become my go to shirt here during the hot TX summers. Very silky soft light material, can breathe very easily without fogging glasses and I love the coverage u get from the gaiter hood combo. Will pick up another one next time they are on sale. Next purchase will be the Simms lightweight pants. I bought the 31 dollar Columbia gloves and hated them, exchanged them for the Glacier gloves and they are great for 17 bucks. Want to try the Simms guide gloves or the regular ones if anyone owns them and can comment on them I would appreciate it. I also have the Columbia camo boonie hat, but don't wear it. Yea it offers coverage on the back which a baseball cap doesn't but the brim isn't long enough on the front for keeping the sun out of your eyes like a baseball cap does. Hope this helps cuz the stuffs not cheap but needed if u fish in hot climates.

How r the Simms buffs for breathing? I know they have holes in them so r they pretty non restricting when breathing and do they fog glasses? Thanks
  13. Some original Lee Sisson CB's and some tungsten.
  14. Absolutely excellent point, I'm sure by sliding u mean pulling the CB across the bottom with the rod after it makes contact w the bottom. And having the faster reel to reel up the slack after the drag makes it easier. I fish my CB like that alot, and helps with snagging less like when throwing a 1.5 in cover. Some refer to it as wormin a CB. My ADD makes it too hard to reel a fast reel slow lol.
  15. Awesome feedback guys thanks.
  16. First off as someone new to the 8XD and 10XD game I do want to throw these on a 5.4 or lower gear ratio right? Do any of u throw it on a 6.something? Is there a huge difference throwing them on a 6.4 to a 5.4? And it looks like as a lefty the only decent reel I have to choose is the ABU Winch, or am I missing some? Thanks
  17. What gear ratio do u throw your squarebills and crankbaits that dive up to 12' - 15' with?
  18. As stated above how often do u throw a SK squarebill 2.5 over the 1.5, never, a little, or more than? I fish Lake Fork in TX and it's very highly pressured, because of that even though the water is almost always stained I always throw the 1.5. When u do choose the 2.5 what are your reasons for choosing it? Thanks guys.

I take it u meant shirts not shorts as shorts wouldn't offer much protection. I came from PA to TX and hate the hot weather and the sun is brutal down here. I own the name brand stuff mentioned by the other members above. I just ordered one of the Aftco ninja shirts but haven't received it yet. I ordered it because the buffs always leave the back of my neck exposed. The Huk buff I have I don't like, as I mentioned it climbs up leaving my neck exposed in the back and fogs my glasses. Hoping the Aftco shirt eliminates that.
