  1. Nope it wasn't a weed sneak. I have a bunch of weed sneaks. They had a colored plastic cone you fed the line through and then tied to the jig eye. the cone snugged down over it and protected the knot. Love these and still have a couple dozen. Bought a load of em on clearance once that got stolen in a major break in a couple years back. I have some of the others too....I remember the packaging but can't remember the brand....I'll figure it out....

  3. Nearly all my baitcast reels are the same line, so the IPT factors are more directly tied to ratio than if you have a wide variety of spools. That being said, I think you have to align the equipment with how you mostly use it. If I could only pick one, I'd lean toward 5.4 (I think Lew's makes some in that range), but that means you're going to be a little slow when burning baits. I use 4.4 for deep cranks, 5.1 for spinnerbaits and smaller/shallow cranks, and 6.2 for much of the rest. If I need to burn a spinnerbait faster, I'll usually select a bait with lighter weight and narrow blades so it doesn't wear me out. -G

  5. Good day everyone! I'm getting back into the sport after several years away. I recently moved to Lake Lanier in north Georgia after spending much of my life in Michigan. I'm in the process of refurbishing a 1996 Ranger 485V that I originally bought from Kevin Vandam after he won it on the B.A.S.S. tour early in his career. We grew up in the same town. I'm looking forward to chatting and learning from everyone!
