  1. Keep thinking that, then get a kayak haha
  2. Norman Excalibur Suspending FFS (3) 5XDs
  3. got out of a seminar early and stopped at my favorite bait shop on the way home.. found this absolute gem! The only BSD6 in the place, immediately grabbed it. He still has a TON of original Excalibur stuff, priced like they're still in business.
  4. Shoot me a PM before you deal em!
  5. That usually happens when the ball used for the weight transfer system gets stuck in the tail of the bait and doesn't fall to the nose once the bait had entered the water.
  6. I really just want the green perch..
  7. In shopping for a Spro Little John Baby DD I found that they offer European exclusive paint jobs that are incredibly expensive to ship over here. From most of the sites in the Netherlands and European eBay accounts shipping alone is anywhere from $15-$22. I'm just curious as to whether anyone has any experience with European Spro products and if anyone has found a cheaper outlet to obtain them.
  8. I bought micro rattles off ebay that are intended for fly Fishing. I put them on a couple of my skirtless football jigs by melting a ballpoint pen cap around it. Works well, but not a huge difference maker. Made of out boredom more than necessity.
  9. I usually go with a #2
  10. Just saw the Spro Little John Baby DD is good to 14ft and suspending, figured I'd mention it.
  11. The few RC 110s I have are awesome and suspend nose down perfectly. The smaller version hasn't been good to me though. None of mine float?
  12. I picked up a Booyah One Knocker in Copper Shiner and I can't tell the difference.
  13. try the luck e strike rick clunn stx's.. the hooks are a little weak but some owner st36's work well. They're megabass clones at a quarter of the price and actually fish alright. My 110s suspend great out of the box but the I've always had to tune the smaller variant, 90s? Nothing beats a pointer though..
  14. Yes while they do it's a very limited color selection and my point was why would such a versatile lure be discontinued?
  15. I really don't like to take my cranking outfit over 5/8-11/16oz, so not looking to add any weight is exact reason I made this thread. I just figured it would be nice to have a deep, suspending option without have to settle for an 8' jerkbait that can't wobble.
  16. While reloading my stock for next season I realized that suspending/deep diving crankbaits are almost completely obsolete. I remember when Norman had an sDD22 and Excalibur/Bomber has a suspending Fat Free Shad in 5,6 and 7. I emailed both companies and of course were told they were discontinued. Maybe it's just me, but the idea of a 5/8oz crank that can dip below 15 feet and stay there is a valuable asset. I love my 5XDs & floating DD22s and their price.. Now whenever I see the plugs mentioned above they're near $15 a pop! Anyone else have any experience with these?
  17. Can't believe I'm reading this.. literally just bought the same thing on Sunday. Haven't fished or tested it but for $2.99 it's not sweat off my back. Went looking for a 5xd, came home with this. At least I won't feel bad throwing it into the tall grass. I'll let you know how it runs for me.
  18. The only thing he's thrown that I've not tried is the 8XD. I usually try square bills. The weather has been pretty brutal and the dramatic temperature drop over the last two weeks has really changed the fishing.. but what the hell do I know.
  19. Well, today will probably have been my last outing at nockamixon this year. I've gone six times in the last two months and have not caught a single fish. How embarrassing. Went out early this morning with a keitech crazy flapper on a football jighead and a couple new jerkbaits. Stayed until 6:30pm and didn't get a single bite. I usually stay in and around Three Mile. Today, at noon, I had a small aluminum boat trailing my course around the cove and he put three decent LMs in the boat one after another. All water I had trolled twice prior to his arrival. Really don't know what to do there anymore. I've thrown so many different baits with so little reward. With respect to the weather, water temp and season I've tried frogs, spooks, every soft plastic imaginable, lipless cranks, suspending jerkbaits and a multitude of jigs, All my hours on the lake have yielded absolutely zero knowledge. With the exception of my complete ineptitude of the sport. If I can't turn it around come early spring I'll have to find another watering hole. I just can't take the trip back to the boat ramp feeling so useless anymore.
