  1. Hook rash happens to just about all hard baits. Use any lure long enough and it'll get scratched up.
  2. ^^^ Green sunfish are pretty aggressive. I've caught 4" fish on 1/2 oz spinnerbaits with size 6 willow blade
  3. True. The conquest are works of art. Easy on the eyes and smooth in the hands.
  4. Why risk it? Line is cheap and the only thing between you and the fish. Its better to be safe than sorry.
  5. It will make your cranking a little easier, especially with resistance lures.
  6. I agree completely. Plus four gear ratios to choose from. You can often find them for around $100. And I'm a shimano man.
  7. All my symetres always had binding issues and were not as smooth as other shimano reels. Even different generations. On the other hand, I've owned spirex, Saharas, stradics and sustains with little to no problems.
  8. For some strange reason I've had the most binding with the Shimano symetre series. I have both lower and higher shimano spinning reels. The symetres always gave me the most issues. So now, I just stay away from them. Most of my other shimano spinning reels are trouble free
  9. I use shimano Sahara 500's on my ultra light bass setups. Daiwa spinmatic Z 's on my crappie and bream setups. The shimano 1000's are my regular bass setups.
  10. The rod is actually only rated down to 3/16 oz. I have mine with a Core 50. I have thrown small Texas rigs with it. 1/8 weight and skinny 6" worm. The casting seems to be pretty precise with this rod.
  11. I have three of the new version. Two full cork and one split grip. To me they are a decent rod but I like cork handles. Fairly sensitive and average weight. I prefer the full cork over the split. To me, its just more comfortable to cast. If you are a fan of EVA and like red then you should probably go with the Zodias. I haven't held a Zodias, but I have heard others say it fishes like the first model Cumara. Which was a far superior rod to the crucial. I use my crucials for spinnerbaits and squarebills. They do a good job at it.
  12. Could you explain . .
  13. Why does it say Hagane on the side if it's suppose to be CI4+? Unless the side plate or frame is now aluminum.
  14. Hmmm. I take it that you really like the 50 series.
  15. Core 50MG7 or Aldebaran MG7. Both are really about the same reel. Both cast great and small enough the palm tightly while jerking.
  16. They have already discontinued the chronarch 50e . Most places have just slowly sold them out. Some places had them on clearance sale. They are not even on Tackle warehouse anymore
  17. Haven't used Stren in a while. Berkley sensation has a lot of stretch also. I was having trouble on the hooksets due to the stretch. Stopped used it after several outings.
  18. I also wonder if a citica 70 is coming ?
  19. Perhaps this reel will hold its value better than the 200i. Just like the 50e normally holds better resale value than the 200e.
  20. The tournament MB is a great value for the money. I have two of them and they are as good as my higher priced Lews. Is there a certain reason u need a 6.4:1 gear ratio? There is not much difference in that and a 6.8:1.
  21. I have not used the grease but have no issues with the oil. The problem is some people use too much. That's when it gets messy. A little grease or oil goes a long way.
  22. To me all those reels are about equal. Its a matter a preference. I have owned all those reels. With the exception of the scorpion which is really the same as a curado 200hg. Which i have also owned. Performance will vary from reel to reel and brand to brand. I've had stock reels that preform better than super tuned ones. It just depends on the reel. All those are great reels and should give you very little trouble down the road
