Alright college students let start suing.
I'm not pickin' at ya. Really I'm not. But when you use the 'wink wink' smiley next to the word ' legally' and refer to working in the financial world as the 'hustle' it kind of makes my eye twitch. It really does not present the best image. Serious question : Are ethics discussed during your classes or is it just something that's glossed over quickly while everyone rolls their eyes ? Either my third year or fourth year I have to take a business ethic class. I have to spend an entire semester or two learning regulations. I think I have take one again in graduate school. Also my accounting class this fall will mention some accounting ethics, but I will go into greater details of those regulations in the business ethic class. The CPA exam is divided into 4 parts. Auditing, Regulations, Business concept, Financial reporting. (correct me someone if I'm wrong) So yeah I will have to learn a great deal of regulations and ethic. (each parts is like 4 hours long.) Man, I got lot to learn. Thanks for the advice Bass-Ackward. I want start out working for big firm get some experience then venture down the road of freelancing/starting my own small firm.

Cash Back Scam - Is this True?
You don't have to look at your receipt. If you watch the computer screen it will say "cash due" or "tender due" or whatever, if you paid exact amount with credit card or debit card with no cash back, it should come up cash due 0.00. I wouldn't fret over this, I don't see how this scam can work and I used to work in retail in high school.

Cash Back Scam - Is this True?
http://www.bbb.org/us/ Call them... You know, there was a scam that Burger King employees used to do, where if they don't give you a receipt they most likely made transaction non-existence. Every wonder why they had signs saying "Notified Manager if no receipt is giving" I highly doubt they cared about your family's bookkeeping.

Life time warranty on them is pretty good, but I have yet to used it. Green Mirror has amber lens, so you might want consider Blue Mirror glasses for more light blockage.

I said legally. Gordon Gekko? Where have I heard that name...isn't that a movie where the character was doing inside trading? I was referring to shrinking the tax base for taxpayers who qualifies for deductibles and exemptions and doesn't know it. I probably will not work in taxes, I will most likely work in advisory service. We light that firecracker when time comes.

Sigma, yeah it going to suck. But it will be rewarding if I passed it. Right now I'm worry about meeting the education requirement then I start preparing for it while hopefully with accounting job, because I got not only meet education, but work experience requirement. I was wondering if the exam gets easier if you got right accounting job. Because if you work for a CPA firm you are accustom to seeing their day to day operations and you gain knowledge that way rather than reading and studying a book. Would you agree or am I off a little?

Cash Back Scam - Is this True?
I used to work in retail, this is just ridiculous. I had old people in general or people that had glasses that couldn't read the credit card pad, and would get mad at me for charging them more, when they hit the cash back. At K-mart, I cannot control what you punch in on the credit card pad. At K-mart, if the machine wasn't working right, I had to notified loss and prevention, who then removed the machine off the cash register. And if manager knew it wasn't working, they would have removed it themselves. So how come Wal-Mart managers not removing it? and how is she controlling the pad? There no way any cashier should be allow control those pads... Sorry, there way too many things in this story that are skeptical to me. I don't think this is true. I've never had a credit card to ask a customer for cash back, it usually only ask with ATM cards. Even at other locations I've been too where I used my parent's credit card it never asked me for cash back... If customers filed complaint on her 3 times and she worked same register wouldn't wal-mart manager been wise enough to change the credit card pad? There no way any cashier has any control over the credit card pad and what the customer's are punching in. I think wal-mart loss and prevention manager just ought get random person go through line and see what happens. Wal-Mart manager aren't exactly smartest people on block, they are just lucky because their store has such great name, however, when one files a complaint they don't generally do anything. Guarantee this lady will shop there again. :

Some classes are plain useless, some are invaluable. For instance, is classes on music, art, philosophy, biology, or literature going to be useful for ME (accountancy major) in future? Nope. They are just on the curriculum to gain more money. (notice how lot of colleges charges by hours of classes...) Classes for me in accounting and math will give me skills necessary for jobs in CPA field.(which is what I want to be, a CPA in the consultant service) Classes in Economic will provide me a broad knowledge on how the market as a whole will work. Management classes will teach me infrastructure of a business. Marketing is fun, but it too freaking easy. (it easy to learn it, but it hard to actually sell something, which I will admit) Thus, I'm in college because I need skills necessary to become a CPA, which is what they are providing me along with some useless crap to get more money out of me and professor gets a larger paycheck because my scholarship paid for his class. With this skill and education, employers can spend less time and money on training me because I already have the skills provided. Which is bottom line. While I agree college doesn't equate to guarantee job, some degree are extremely useful and they are design to train people for the jobs. Like accounting degree, medical school, law school, et cetera. Also, while a degree doesn't necessary mean anything other than fact you are dedicated towards something, it just simply saves employer a lot of time and money by weeding out applicant. They assume because of a paper they are already more qualified. But me? I'm being train and taught how to do a specific job. My accounting professor has a CPA license, my economic professor has a CFP license. I'm being taught by people like them to do a desired job. Is it necessarily to have a college degree? Absolutely not. But I will never see a person with no degree working as a CPA, because they don't have training required to be one. While it true that number of college degrees has gone up, the labor market already loaded with bachelor degrees making it a very competitive market. It going take even more education to beat them out. I'm simply in school to learn a desired occupation. Not to show off some fancy paper and prove world I'm smarter than them. There always going be someone smarter than me whether they have a college degree or not, but with my training I SHOULD be better than them at specialized knowledge. I get paid because I have such extensive specialized knowledge, that will make someone else more productive, because he/she do not have the kind of skills that I possessed. Most people go to college because they think it guarantees a job or they think people will believe they are smarter than those without a degree. That an erroneous belief, you are there to learn something specialized which will be valuable to society or for your own interest. There only two jobs I will accept after college: Any financial analyst job on Wall Street or LaSalle street, or an accounting job for CPA firm. If any employer tried offer me a non finance related position they can kiss my arse (Hopefully I will get an intern before going to graduate school for my master)

Tell your professor to ponder on this: A person with a technical education working in a factory will make more money then them, because they have a higher MRP, because they are more productive than philosopher. That will tick him off.

This why I want make 4.0 or at least 3.5. Accounting Majors at ETSU requires a minimum of 2.5 If i made that grade I be laughingstock to my classmates. University of Tennessee requires accounting majors to have 3.0 while rest of business field can squeak by with 2.0 I mean Most employees will never see your grades, but I will be P.O. if one of my classmate got the job I wanted and I made a better grade. :-? Lol. oh well. Accounting jobs are expected to skyrocket by 2016 according to Bureau of Labor, so I'm not sweating it. I can thank Enron for that and uh Arthur Anderson. :

How do you match the forage base?
Catch a bream, take a picture, then go to nearest bait shop and find a crankbait of similar color.

Scent for hardbaits??? Help please!
I may get me some of this stuff. Usually I fish crankbaits for reaction, but I guess with combination of scent I don't see why it wouldn't work. If you're fishing chocolate milk water the combination of sound and scent should help increase odd of fish finding it... I've seen megastrike before at BPS, but I've never thought about putting them on crankbait. Just out of curiously, how long will these scent last on fast moving crankbait? Anyone ever experiment with different type of scent on same bait while reeling it at same speed? To see how long they last? Or if they have increased your catch?

My greatest fear LOL. I'm hearing impair, so I usually find a different professor. Lot of time I have no problem with foreign person or woman teaching, but if their voice is weird to me, I have to change professor or make them give me their notes after class. It sucks when you missed information and do not even bother to ask question because you didn't know the information exist. This is one of reason why I went to community college to take my general education, because at 4 year colleges general education classes are usually large. And I didn't want be in a large classroom with 300 people and a professor using a microphone. My average classroom size at my school is around 25. So it more easier to understand. I'm transferring ETSU after this year, but since I'll be back in business classes the classroom be same size as it is now. I always thought it be fun to major in International Business, but with my hearing I cannot minor in a foreign language, it hard enough for me to understand English let along learn a new foreign language. I've been to Mexico, those people can speak fast. :-? I took latin in high school, it was just hard to hear it sometimes because latin pronunciation is different from English. I was able read and translate the words, but I couldn't hear then translate it. Dan, it fun to make a 100. But sadly I cannot pull it off in Economic. Maybe I can in Accounting classes and other business classes where the test will not be so broad and gray.

My final exam is approaching for Economic II, and I give up. > I Currently have an A average in the class, but I have yet to make a 100 on a single test. The last test which cover: Financial Market, Taxes, Labor Market, and Union market. I made a 95 on it. The other previous tests I made 88 and 86 then when you factor in couple 100s and 90s on quizzes I have an A average. There no point in trying get a 100 on a single test, it will never happen. :-/ Economic professors everywhere, you win!

How deep is this quote?
"Destruction lead to a very rough road, but it also breeds creation." It from the song "Californication" by Red Hot Chili Pepper. That song is so true, it song about how California (Hollywood in general) sets the standard for rest of the world. Notice how we always follow movies stars, and trends tend to be same as a movie star? Weird. But it good song that is stuck in my head!

Wow, this is sad.
Here lies the tricky part. Ready for this B.S.? ;D Let's say, one year the entire corn supply in United State was 100 (lets keep it simply for sake of the argument) 80 corns were actually sold above the market equilibrium price (assume there is a price floor on corn set by the government) of say 3.50 a bushel. The remaining 20 is not getting sold. Why? there no demand for the extra 20 corn, thus, the price falls back to 2.50 that was set by the government, they buy the remaining 20 corns on the market which will send any extra corn that is import or comes onto the market to be sold at higher price. If another 50 more corns comes onto market next week, it will be sold at higher market price than 2.50.(assume the demand is rising when there is no supply on the market) Now, year 2. Government decided they want to limit surplus purchases. So, they paid off two major corn producers to limit their production and the market produce 80 corns this year. However, the market didn't need 80 corns, instead, the demand actually fell to 50 corns to be sold at 3.50, while remaining 30 corns fell to 2.50. So in the question, it is safe to assume that buying surplus will automatically increase price. While set aside program will increase price if there is greater demand for the smaller quantity of supply, but we cannot assume the demand will be high for the price to sky rocket. Thus in the question I post above the answer is A. Economic tests sucks. Edited.

I once had the John Deere Farming game....I don't play games on facebook.

Wow, this is sad.
He going curve my grades, he said he saw the quizzes, but he didn't know what the answers were to them. I made an 86% on the first test which was on paper in class. He let me see what I missed and ones I miss I either mis-read the questions or I simply guess. (I admit, I guess 2 of the questions I got wrong.) I love economic, but the test usually has lot of gray areas. They will change one word in the sentence which is suppose narrow your answer(s) down. For instance, if question ask what does government do to inflate price of farming goods? A) Buy surplus Acres Set-Aside program C) Some B.S. choice D) Some B.s. choice The answer will be A, because as they are buying up surplus they are lowering then supply which is suppose send price up. While the set aside program has similar affect, it doesn't necessarily assume anyone going actually buy the product produced, thus, it doesn't mean the price is really going go up. For rest of you all, economic is gray area test. Many professor will let you argue and if they think you got valid point they curve it, but whatever. My brother told me in his Managerial Economic class, he never made above an 85 on tests and papers, but he made A as a final grade. professor award him with hard work and valid economic points on papers. Just because an economic books say so, doesn't mean it will or will not happen too many variables. Long Mike, question number 9 is suppose be C, but McGraw hills say D. Then question number 13, it suppose to be C, but again the computer says otherwise. If you notice the answers for 9 and 13, have two different formulas for the same question... : I'm not that stupid, just grammatically illiterate.

Forgot to add, they also screwed up question number 6 in the link above.. :

Wow, this is sad.
I'm taking economic II this summer at my college and he gave us this web site for practice quizzes and powerpoints. The problem with the quizzes on this site..they are B.S.! They put wrong answers down for the questions. I went and talked to my professors about them and he told me just to put answers down and he will curve it as he see fit. We can email him the quizzes and he give us a small points for our grades. So if you are like 1-5 points away from making B or an A these quizzes will help. But since they can easily be cheated he is not counting it as a huge percentages. Anyway, with that being said, the problem with the quiz I'm post for example. Is the inappropriate usage of the word "expected-value" Expected value means to calculate the probably future value. The formula for it is: (1-risk factor) x (Present Discount Value). On question #9 the answer is D. But it should be C with the giving choices. On question #13 the answer is D But again it should be C with the giving choices. here link to quiz: http://highered.mcgraw-hill.com/sites/0072979119/student_view0/chapter32/multiple_choice_quiz.html How does McGraw hill make such stupid mistake(s)? On some of other quizzes they did same thing. On left side of the link, if you click on chapter 30, then multiple choice quiz read question #2 and tell me what wrong with choice B. P.S. Also notice, on 9 and 13 the answers of the formulas are flipped flopped? What the hell? You cannot add 1+risk premium..let along divide by it. If you got standard deviation of a bond default is 20% if you subtract 1-.20=.80. Which translate to 80% of not defaulting. I'm done with my rant.
