  1. Belgrade lakes chain has the most variety. That's just north of Augusta. Great Pond probably being the most popular for big smallies.
  2. Wayne, I ordered that product and the puck was much too small for my ram mount. I have searched the internet for a larger "puck" to no avail. Any ideas?
  3. I managed to install mine without much trouble. Was just nerve wracking waiting for the trolling motor transducer swap to take shape. Humminbird was awesome to work with though. Although I lucked out and my Tracker had an extra set of wires run to the bow that weren't in use!
  4. Thank you Wayne! Is their anything you don't know?
  5. I see you installed your mount where the cheap lowrance was. How did they end up running the wires? I was disapointed when my ram mount came that there isn't a "hole" in the base to run the wires through. Did they tap another hole near the mount?
  6. LAST question: The transducer in the Ulterra wont support SI or DI. Just mount one of the helix transducers on the trolling motor shaft?
  7. Ulterra w/ Humminbird® Helix™ 9 SI Sonar/GPS Combo on the bow & Humminbird® Helix™ 10 DI Sonar/GPS Combo on the console. This will allow me to have DI/SI on both screens (if linked via ethernet) & will allow me to use I-pilot to follow contours and any waypoints I mark on either unit? I apologize for all the questions, I just really want to get this right the first time!
  8. Ok let me get this right: If I had a DI transducer attached to the console unit (positioned at the rear) and a SI transducer positioned on the bow to a SI only unit, both units could see the others features via ethernet?
  9. What is the benefit of having matching units at console and bow? I feel as though having SI/DI at both locations would be valuable for both me and my partner. I would also need GPS at the console for navigation. Is this overkill? Am I overthinking it?
  10. How does that rig cast?
  11. Here is my dilemna: I want to purchase the new Ulterra with I-pilot.I like the features and it matches my price range. The problem is I prefer the lowrance elite 7 totalscan units. Will I regret not getting a hummingbird to interface with the MinnKota? Plus the Helix 7 doesn't work with I-pilot, and I can't really afford a pair of $1200+ units. My understanding is the built in transducer on the Ulterra wont allow me to have SI/DI anyway. Anyone encounter a similar situation? Or if anyone could offer me advice on what set-up they are running.
  12. It will just constantly add and drain water. Just let it run while in use, it will keep the water well oxygenated.
  13. Yes, poor title for sure. They are in parallel & not in series.
  14. I don't think thats true. I did a lot of reading about it. I guess we will see what some others have to say. They are wired in parallel so should still only be generating 12v of power. Hence why I was surprised it seemed to be more powerful.
  15. Am I crazy? I have my 45# edge running off of 12v now. It seems to have a lot more power. Or is it just a matter of me thinking that because it has twice the battery life and I am not noticing it run down over the course of a day?
  16. You my friend are pretty clever. I will see if I can view it with a mirror.
  17. I put in a dual group 27 tray so I could run my TM off 24v instead. I wanted to add battery life now & be ready for a TM upgrade in the fall. I also installed an on-board charger. Well I tried too. That thing will not fit in the compartment mounted to the transom & allow me to actually read the LED lights. So for now it is zip tied to the top of my batteries while I figure out a long term solution. Should I just drill a hole into my rear storage compartment to run the wires from there? I think I can afford to give up the storage space. How bad is it for now to have it just strapped down inside its current compartment?
  18. Rod holder looks great, thanks for the tip!
  19. My micro installed easily and works great. Boat held very well in mud and rock despite some decent wind 12-15mph. Had it rigged to my cranking battery and had no issues running livewell/electronics and deploying it up and down. Outboard cranked all day. Really glad I made the purchase. It didn't bother my co-angler a bit either.
  20. I had a similar issue. The cranking battery that came with my boat just lacked the CCA needed to fire up the outboard after running electronics all day. Invested in a more "powerful" one at the same size and have had zero issues since. I run a powerpole micro, livewell that circulates all day and fish finder. No issues on a group 24 cranking.
  21. I just ordered a micro for my Pro170. I went back and forth forever on which one I wanted before settling on the micro. I will post how it worked out once its installed and I can try it out! I just couldn't justify the $2k price tag for 1 anchor on my boat. I could get 2 micros for less than 1 of the other versions.
  22. What size is the one you have now? Would help to know before offering any advice.
  23. Thanks for the replies guys. I think I will give it a shot. If one doesn't quite hold, I will get a second(assuming they can be linked together for the switches). You can lay the pole down when you have no interest in using it (little bit of a hassle for sure though).
  24. Would be putting it on a Pro 170. I am intrigued due to the easy install & low price. Can anyone talk me out of it?
