I watched Shaw's show One More Cast today. He looked and acted like the Shaw Grimsby I've watched in the past. He wasn't wearing gloves, he had his hat on so I couldn't see if he had a hair piece. He looked and acted fine.

Today I've watched a number of fishing shows on TV and there were a lot of spinning reels used for a variety of fish. Just watched one where they were fishing for and catching Cobia. It seemed they only used spinning gear.

The New Year is starting out with many more fishing shows on TV. This morning, on ESPN2, Outdoor and VS, I've watched BassMasters, Dance, Linder, Parker and Grimsby. And, there are more coming up. Today you can watch fishing shows from early am 'till 4 pm. Yahoo!

Just watched Al Linder and he was fishing a Mustad Slow Death hook. It looks like you'd have to use a swivel as the hook causes the bait to roll. Have any of you used this hook? What are your thoughts about it?

Here in South East Texas we have soft water year around. What limits my fishing is that our weather varies daily. Today it was rainy and in the 40s. Tomorrow rainy and in the 50s. Wednesday sonny 60s. Thursday and Friday in the 70s by Sunday were back in the mid to low 50s. Being a senior, I find that I like consistency more that I did when I was younger. So my fishing at this time of year is limited. When the weather is more consistant March/April I get back out there more often.

I bought a used 2004 Nitro NX750 last summer. It had no cracks, it still doesn't, and I liked the fit and finish. I am happy with it.

I have 3 times as many baitcast setups as spinning setups. Been reading about why to use baitcasters vs spinning. However, I wonder if you could just use spinning gear for bass fishing. It does seem that there are far fewer spinning rod choices than baitcasting rod choices. I don't recall seeing a heavy rated spinning rod in a medium priced range. Which 3-5 spinning rods would you choose in the $120 or less price range if you were going to use spinning setups only for all your bass fishing?

They look delicious. Haven't had Stuffies in years. Haven't found them in stores here in Texas. We used to be able to get them when we lived in California.
