Which bass boat for $8,500?
I am towing with a diesel 4x4. I have pleanty of room to store the boat. I'd like fiberglass. Length 18' to 20'. I want a reliable outboard. I would like all the extras but that is not a deal breaker The limited on outboard size is 250 HP. I want a "BASS BOAT". How old is to old? I'd like the structure to be modern-front & rear deck, live wells and rod/storage compartments.

Which bass boat for $8,500?
If you had a max budget of $8,500, like I have, which bass boats would you be looking at? I'd like a modern style front deck, and live wells, if possible. Thanks!

WOO HOO!! New Boat!!!
You won't even have to take a rod with you. The fish will be jumping in that boat just for the ride. Happy boating.

Rain gear foot wear
Thanks for all the great information. Yes, I am interested in foot wear for use when using a boat for bass fishing.

Rain gear foot wear
What foot wear do you recommend for our cold rainy days?

Wet weather gear?
What wet weather pants/bibs do you recommend under $100? I don't want them insulated as I'd like to be able to use them in all temperatures.

BASS rules for tournament boats
At my bass club meeting on the 7th, we were told that BASS was going to enforce the 250 HP max engine size and that BASS was going to raise the minimum boat length to 17 feet. Do any of you have any information corroborating either of these statements? I have an 1975 Ranger that is only 16' 3" long.

Left Hand retreive
I'm right handed and prefer to cast and work my rod with my right hand. I crank with my left.

Pflueger President, which one?
Thanks Dodgeguy. I'll include it as part of the order I'm placing today. Boy the bait monkey is doing cartwheels and laughing hysterically. My excuse-It's Christmas!

Pflueger President, which one?
Hey Dodgeguy, Why the Medalist over the President?

Pflueger President, which one?
If you're only going to have one spinning reel for bass fishing, which Pflueger President would you get? The choices are 730X, 115/6, 9.1 oz, or the 735X, 145/8, 11.2 oz.

300 hp Optimax or 275 hp Verado. Which one?
If you intend to fish BASS tournaments you might want to consider the BASS rule "8. HORSEPOWER REGULATIONS: Maximum horsepower for all outboard motorboats used in official tournament practice and in tournament competition will be 250 HP." At a club meeting Wednesday we were told BASS was going to start enforcing the rule because of liability issues. There is also discussion about raising the minimum boat length from 16' to 17' like the FLW. We were told it was an insurance issue.

Tackle Box
Falcon makes two bags, the Falcon® V12 and V6 Speedbags. They claim that both of these new bags give you the ultimate home base for Falcon's innovative, technique-specific FTO utility cases. Cabelas has them for sale http://www.cabelas.com/hprod-1/0031015.shtml. I'm thinking about asking for the system for Christmas. I'm going to post a question asking if anyone is using the complete system on this forum.

Topwater Help?
I second that recommendation of fishing poppers very slowly. I don't know how many times I've been out on a lake on a beautiful early morning and been memorized by the setting while my popper just sat there. In my reverie, I've dang near been scared out or the boat when a bass has busted the surface to engulf the popper. One time when fishing a popper, I got a significant backlash. I had the rod under my arm while I tried to clear the backlash. I don't know how long the popper was sitting on the water, but it was awhile when a nice 3lb 10oz bass decided to eat the popper. I was able to land it but had to reline as there was no way that backlash could be cleared. I fish other types of top water lures faster, but poppers are my favorite.

What year(s) did present bass boat design start?

Bass boat in choppy water?
Thanks y'all for the great information. I haven't yet fished a tournament. I hope to this coming year. I live near Lake Livingston, TX. So I'm also near Sam Rayburn and Toledo Bend. I have been told that Livingston can get dangerous with storms coming up very quickly which is why I wondered about boats taking chop well. Thanks again for all the great information.

Cajun bass boats?
Are Cajun bass boats still made? I saw a '94 17.5' today. It looked good, but I'm not interested is buying anything that's not supported any longer.
