Goals for the 2016 Fishing Season
i would have to agree with you on this and should possibly be added to my goals for this season. everyone has some great ideas for goals this season but what i want to focus on this year is not stressing out so much when im on the water. When i fish of course i look to have success but sometimes i think i stress myself out to the extent that im not taking enough in. Just having the opportunity to be out there and enjoying the sport is what im going to focus on this year.

slip cork
that seems more simple than what i was saying. thanks. lol

slip cork
I've always crappie fished using a slip cork but i've never tried using one while bass fishing. Could it possibly be vital during the spawn? My thoughts are maybe by using the slip cork it might permit me to suspend the bait a little longer in a preferred location or depth. Also, would it be better to use a small soft plastic or a small jig??

Bass Fishing From Shore
I can appreciate that. This should be a friendly place to throw around ideas. Everyone of us have different experiences fishing. There isn't a simple protocol for everything in fishing. Great post man.

Snakes Climb In The Boat

Who would you fish with for a day?
Tommy Biffle. I'd love to get some one on one time with him. Hopefully resulting in him giving me a few pointers on flippin some jigs.

Music in the boat?
definitely agree with scaleface, always enjoy listening to a little cardinal baseball in the boat. Never tried jamming out to anything while bass fishing but if it's not blaring id say it wouldnt effect anything

Local Pay Lake Ridiculousness
the fact is i know this location has a lot of fish. Me and my dad were there during the spawn a couple years ago and caught 55 crappie in a few hours. No doubt that the fish are there. and the fact that people have stopped fishing it solely just on that structure reasoning blows my mind.

Being Versatile from the bank
I just looked up online that they make tackle box backpacks. Definitely something that everyone needs. at least one or two lol http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/product/index.jsp?productId=31931106&cp=4406646.4413993.4414792.4418212&categoryId=12656837 also these backpacks are nice when you're sneaking into the neighbors pond. can get in and out of there in a hurry lol

Local Pay Lake Ridiculousness
Just a few miles from my town there is a pay lake that is very heavily fished over the past few years. But last year sometime the owner went and cleared almost all of the structure from the banks. It was easy to target crappie during the spawn before this. A lot of people have just quit going over this which i think is crazy. How would you approach fishing this lake? The fish are there but the structure has been removed.

What's The Most Challenging Thing You Find About Fishing
The most complicated thing about fishing in my opinion is figuring out what the fish want. So easily i find myself trying a few things on any given day and if they don't work I end up wanting to give up and go to the house. A habit i need to get out of. Taking the time to thoroughly figure out what they want. Paying attention to the little details is something i struggle with. the funnest thing about fishing is just being out on the water and taking it in. Even on the worst days of fishing i can still stay out for hours just because i enjoy everything about being out there. the smell, the views, the FREEDOM! I try to never take any day of fishing for granted!

Being Versatile from the bank
Just something i've found useful for me is carrying my tackle in a backpack, and having all my baits organized in trays so i can put what i want in the back pack. Makes it easy to run up and down the bank without carrying a tackle box in your hands. I use a cheap jansport backpack that i've had for years. curious to know if anyone else has some tips on how they carry their tackle in these situations.

Float n Fly's Lesser Cousin

Wave worms!
a stick bait that was one of the first things i learned to fish with and i fell in love with it! Wave worm was my brand of choice and i used the watermelon flake flavor. As far as i know they dont make them anymore and now i just use zoom. I fish it on an open face set up. Most always throw it out and let it set for a few seconds and slightly twitch it and make it rise and fall back to the bank. Most of the time when i have sucess with it the fish hammer it on the second or third fall. It's a bait ive had a lot of fun with and will always use it as a go to bait when im not having luck with anything else. anyone else ever use these? to add to that, i guess they still make the wave worm they just dont sell it at walmart anymore.
