I've fished this lake a few times on the bank and in my canoe had some luck by the Lilly pads in the summer with a wacky rig but this fall was struggling. Just wanted to know the similarities and differences of this lake from lake smith and if any of the walleyes come over from whitehurst.

Winter time in lake smith is very tough especially this year. There is a private lake that is by lake smith that I fish all the time in my canoe and it has a lot of chain pickerel in it so if I'm not getting hit on a football jig then I'm giving a crankbait a try because not only will the bass bite it but so will the pickerel. The fish this time of year are deep and they don't want to move too much so when you work your bait work them very slow. You won't get a lot of bites but if u do get one most of the time it's a lunker. Spring is right around the corner so once it hits the 1st of April try throwing a wacky rig the bass can't resist it.

What size/weight of a deep diving crank bait or lipless crankbait should I use in the lake?

oh sweet! Thanks for the info and advice. Do you think there are any striped bass left? Heard there was some abundance but maybe rare.

Hey I have never fished this body of water yet. Was thinking about trying this upcoming spring and I'm going to take the long paddle across little creek under the railroad bridge in my canoe and need to know exactly the 30 ft deep pits are and if anyone has had good luck there to possibly share some good areas and also what to use to catch the walleye in there too.

Hey canoebasser what were you using to catch that eight pounder and what part of the year was it and how often do you fish there and where's the best spot to cast without worrying about neighbors bothering you or trees in the way?
