  1. good point BP48, the prices of most of their reels are too high, but you get what you pay for, the best reels on the market
  2. i personally would go with the motorguide because i have both minn kotas and MG's and i like the MG's better. they are both great motors but i would go with the motorguide
  3. i have both crucials and IMX's and i love them both but i would have to go with the loomis. i love my crucials but the IMX's better, their lighter, and more sensetive. so if i were you TxBuddha i would get the loomis.
  4. your right about the price reelmechanic, but they look awesome and a guy who fishes a local tournament trail i fish has one and its awesome all around, except for the price tag haha. and no i dont have one i've just used his.
  5. great work
  6. just wondering if anyone has the new shimano Core. those reels are awesome!
  7. haha good one LBH ;D
  8. good lookin cranks
  9. i use all the sizes but the 5'' seems to work best for me on drop shots or shakey heads. they are great worms in finesse situations.
  10. well, what we were hoping to be a great outing really sucked . when we got to the pond we had been fishing for like ten minutes when my mom called and told us to come back. so we went to Basspro48's house where we were planning on eating and returning to the pond. that didnt work as planned a huge thunderstorm rained the outing out. so we ended up only catching one fish in the ten minutes we were at the pond that Basspro48 caught, which was maybe a pound. we will post outing results again as me and Basspro48 plan to go fishing this weekend on the James or pamunkey rivers.
  11. Me and basspro48 are fixin to head out to the pond for a couple of hours, I've been catching some good fish recently on trickworms and spinnerbaits lately so I'm hoping we can get some nice fish in the boat. We'll report back with pics when we get back in...
  12. lovin the square bill crank and the the wakebaits. nice work
  13. i would have to say a three-way tie between the Devil's Horse, LC Wake Tail, and the LC Splash Tail.
  14. funny how you said he hadn't won anything in a while and then he pulls 66-3 on Guntersville, beating his closest competitor Mark Tucker by seven pounds and two ounces. Funny how that works huh?
  15. i use 'em on drop shots, shakey heads and tail weighted, but it produces best for me when i C-rig it.
  16. nice looking rod, good job.
  17. buy yourself a pair of split ring pliers, there cheap and they get it done alot easier
  18. here where i live there are lots of good local shops, but i still get a lot of stuff like rods from BPS, i would have to say a tie between both.
  19. i love the zoom critter craws but ialso use the bottom half of a baby brush hog, and the GYCB baby craws are pretty good too. i use a lot of the stuff i make myself.
  20. i actually bought these baits too and have caught lots of fish on them but they are not a top pick for my arsenal. they worked extremely well when the bass were feeding on spawning bluegill. and you can take the belly hook off.
  21. when i use scents i use megastrike or jack's juice.
  22. i hardly ever go anywhere without a shakey head tuied on. i always have one tied on during my tournaments. i htink they work best under pressure situations, or "finesse" situations( clear water, light line, small bait, etc...) but you don't have to limit yourself to using it in these situations, it works in lots of scenarios. its one of my top two finesse situation baits. i like the spot remover jighead, as well as the Dave's spot hoppr jighead. my favorite worms for this technique are the ZOOM trick worm and finesse worm. i usually stick with a four to 5 1/2 inch worm, but occasionally go up to the 7" size such as the trick worm, and occasionally go larger. it all depends on what they want, the conditions(such as fishing pressure, water clarity, and average size of the fish in that lake. i use it on 8 to 14 pound line, on a spinning rod, preferably a 6'6" to 7' feet in length and medium to medium heavy action with a fast tip. it is an all aroung great technique, and very versatile. really, you can put almost any type of plastic on it you want.
  23. Cranks: bandit and LC, can't quite decide which Spinnerbaits: war eagle Plastics: ZOOM and my own creations Jigs: i make my own jigs Topwater: LC and a Pop-R
  24. i mostly use jerkbaits ang jigs in cold weather. but other times i will use grubs, drop shots, and shakey heads, but the top three are the jerkbait, jig, and grub.
