Went to Whittier lake for the second time and landed this 3 lb 12oz fish! Only bite all day but couldn't be happier! Was going to go to Urbana pond but the place was packed with people! On a black and blue chatterbait. Also, someone told me there was a pond up past gambrill that had a ton of big bass, he told me to look up Hamburg, but I can't seem to find it, any ideas where he is talking about?

There is a boat for sale around my area. My dad and I have both been wanting to get a boat to use on the river and some lakes around here. The boat is fiberglass, however, and I'm not sure whether or not that's a good idea for the Potomac. Any thoughts? It would be my first boat.

There were tons of boaters and kayakers out today! And a few were sitting on the bank with rods in holders. Didn't ask anyone how the fishing was but wish I did, didn't feel like yelling out to the boaters .

Up at Cunningham falls , hunting creek lake, for the maple syrup festival thing, so I just did a little exploring of the lake! Just walking along the shoreline I saw a number of little 1 pounders swimming off structure ! Might have to come up tomorrow and do a little fishing. Any idea how the fishing is up here?

FINALLY! First bass of 2016. Nothing special of a fish but definitely lifted my spirits! Caught em on a keitech swimbait. A whopping 1.6 pounds!

Nice fish! I went today from about 3 - 6 pm. Was throwing around a little kietech swimbait at first , and in the first 3 casts while I was about to lift the bait out of the water I saw a fish (looked to be around 2.5 lbs) swipe at it. So I kept that thing on for about another hour. Tried a black and blue chatterbait as well and a bright red lipless. Thinking I was fishing too fast, should have tried a shakey head or other finesse technique. The water is pretty murky though. I liked the look of the place though, seems promising. Might go back tomorrow or over the weekend.

You need to walk through a little bit of brush to get around the a clearer side, other than that there are some pretty ok trails.

Just went fishing yesterday and today at Urbanas Fish management pond. Not even a nibble! New thermometer said the water was at 58 degrees.. Saw some bluegill swimming around in packs off the bank a ways . I was throwing a black and blue chatterbait, soft plastic swimbait , and Drop shot, guess it still needs to warm up some more!

I always wondered if there was anything in there...

Caught nothin but some salad at the pond yesterday, tried throwing black and blue chatterbait and hopping a jig. Guess it needs to warm up a tad more.

Gonna head out to Lake Linganore dam tomorrow , any suggestions on what to throw?

I think it has to do with the forage they are eating, or that they are eating more.

Anyone know how Black Hills is doing? Went up there during the summer when I was relatively newer to fishing and didn't manage to catch anything, my grandpa lives near the lake and used to be a pretty big fisherman and said the bass population has been down recently ? Any reports?

No way! I live really close too.. That's a bummer, just started fishing there..

Hey! Looking for some new spots to fish around Frederick. Just got a new pair of waders, so any spots where I could wade would be great. I'd love some new lakes or ponds where I could fish from shore. Obviously looking for largemouth or smallmouth.
