  1. 3.8 or 4.3 swing impact fat with 3/0 - 5/0 spring lock Gama hook. Bait lasts way longer with a spring lock and will use one lure multiple days. Male perch has some crazy orange flakes in it that look amazing, caught a lot bass and pIke in CT off that color. Just got some sun gill color and some purple, red, and go to bluegill flash.
  2. Water cold and very stained and muddy in CT. I use X raps and flat raps this time of year. Also shakey head with a floating lure like a zman worm, weightless fluke, or keitech run super slow. Jackall super cross tail bluegill on a drop shot or even wacky. Problem is I'm too antsy in my pantsy and my heart is racing I realize I'm burning my lures since I haven't fished in a couple months. Every few casts I have to tell myself to slow down on any technique after ice out. GO Buffalo Bills!!!!!!!!!!
  3. I will have to try these as well. Also really interested in the "flash" their fluke style lure but you can't find them anywhere
  4. I like the big bites bait stick. You get like 25 pack from TW for 5$. The two biggest fish Ive ever seen have come off of these so called cheap lures in June bug. Very durable and like was mentioned above if you use a twist lock owner or Gama hook it won't tear as much. I use twist lock on every plastic now except zman becuase there's no way to corkscrew those darn things. If you want sinking don't use zinkerz. They will become boyant after a while and are better for stand up and Ned rig. You could also try a keel weighted twist lock hook for a nice horizontal fall.
  5. I hate the smell. Its like squid fermented nastiness. I love the frogs though. Never used keitech or swimbaits at all until this year and the keitech swing impact fat is my new favorite lure. I love to throw stanley ribbit frogs all summer long in the scummy weed filled ponds in CT. The Keitech noisey flapper might be better. It has a unique flap Ive never seen before and it has the keitech "trait" where it flaps at any speed. The Keitech floats almost Ive even thrown it on a 3/0 -5/0 keel weighted swimbait springlock GAMA hook and found that it would never flip over on its back like other brands love to do. I want to get the black and Blue color too for white cloudy days. I also like the craw version the crazy flapper as a jig trailer or T-rigged. Only downside is they are like bulky. They have tall broad shoulders. They are extremely hard to rig straight at first with just a regular 3 -5/0 EWG hook. Very awkward to rig until you get the hang of it. I learned how to work a hollow frog most of the time last year, but one of my best friends loves this lure after he caught a bunch of bass and pike on them. It almost looks like the ship that Star Fox flys from the old N64 game.
