If I remember correctly, when they first begin spawning look in areas on the North side of a body of water that provide cover from winds. However with these fronts constantly coming through, I would check the West side considering we have been having Easterly winds.

@Team9nine I visited Province Pond this afternoon. Doesn't seem to bank-friendly unfortunately. Thanks for the suggestion though. I may have to buy a fishing pass for Prairie Creek.

I would appreciate any input. I'm not a fan of driving through Indy but I wouldn't mind putting in 2 or 3 hours if I can catch some fish. I've been dry all year so far. I plan on visiting Province Pond this evening and checking it out. Never heard of it and haven't read about it online, so hopefully low pressure. Thanks for the help!

Hey guys I'm looking for some info on great fishing lakes in Indiana. I currently live 45 minutes from Summit but I've heard bad things about it. Looking for a lake/reservoir that can be fished from bank for bass/panfish. Thanks!

Are the whites spawning/running up rivers? I love catching them in the river.

A good cheap rod that I like and would recommend is a good ol' Ugly Stick. As well, you can combo it with a Shimano Sedona.

People are catching smallies in the rivers in Central Indiana so the lakes should be warming up soon! Tight lines all.

FIshing report for 3/7/16 - Hung one but didn't get it in. Managed to rip a hole in my favorite shirt thanks to heavy winds. Planning on going out tomorrow but will use something with more weight... and less hooks.

I spent about $50 at Dick's last night for the same reason! Lol. Looking forward to getting out at least. I plan on hitting it Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday and on there is predicted rain but I'll see how muddy it gets.

Anyone got speculations about this coming week? Going to be 60 and 70s, hopefully getting out after work.
