Bass Pro XPS Rattle Shad
I have used them quite a bit and they definantly have a place in my lipless cranks box. Like said before, sometimes they want a different brand/sound, but I have had success with the baits. The hooks that they come with are pretty crappy, so I suggest you switch them out first. There were times this last fall/winter that I would get a few on a Harcore drum, then switch to the BPS trap and get twice as many fish. Another underated lipless crank IMO, is the Xcalibur Xr50. I have days where the fish want a trap and nothing but the Xcalibur will work.

You know you've got it bad when...
Raul I hear ya, out here in AZ it is in the 70's, the bass will be spawning in a couple weeks and they are hitting hard. On the flip side, in a few months it will be like fishing a lake on the sun.

Shaky head rig of choice?
Take a look at this http://www.conquistadortackle.com/ConquestJigPages/ShakyJigPage.html and tell me they do not look sick. I am a big fan of the other Conquistador products. I have not used these as of yet, but I will soon and let you know what the verdict is. I have high hopes for them, as Joe's stuff has not let me down thus far.

Water clarity
Out here in AZ it goes like this: 0' - 3' = Muddy 3' - 10' = Stained 10' - 35' = Clear Not a lot of Muddy water to be found around here. On some lakes you can d-shot in 20' - 35' feet of water and still see your bait. It is great for bedding bass, yet it is a real pain quite a bit of the time. You have to try and make sure you always have the sun at your back to maximize your efforts.

What's your favorite drop shot bait?
Roboworm Straight Tail worms and Reaction Innovations Flirt worms.

GYCB Flappin Hogs?
I was at a local shop and asked if they had them in a few weeks ago. Well they didn't, so the owner called up GYCB to get an order. They stated that they had to pull them off the market due to a legal issue with Zoom. Zoom is stating that GYCB's Flappin' Hogs are a copyright infringement due to the bumps on the tail, they say it is taken from the bumps on the tails of their super hogs. Unfortunately GYCB will not be selling them anymore for the time being. So if you can still get them, buy them up, because you may not see them again for awhile. GYCB will probably have to change the design to put them back on the market. From the limited supply I have seen, they were killer for pitching.

Reaction Innovations Sweet Beaver
Game, Yeah I meant the sweet beavers, but all the other stuff they make is big out here as well. The screwed up jig heads, vixens and barely legal vixens are up there as well too. You should seriously consider the move to AZ. I grew up in KC and it did take me a bit to get used to the heat most of the year, but you can fish year round (though you may want to night fish during the crazy hot summer). From PHX you can drive a couple hours up north to fish for trout, pike, walleye and you can drive a couple hours to the border and then either go to Baccarac (sp), El Salto or one of the other lakes with those mexi-hawgs in them or hit up Rocky Point for some saltwater fishing. I live in Central Phoenix and it is 45 minutes to Lake Pleasant, 45 minutes to Bartlett Lake, around an hour to Canyon, Saguaro and Apache, and 90 minutes to my fave, Lake Roosevelt. I would suggest living on the eastside of town (Scottsdale, Tempe, Mesa) as you will be closer to the Salt River Chain (Canyon, Sag, Apache and Rosey). With that being said, Tennessee and Texas have some pretty great lakes, so you have a decision to make. Give me a shout if you want some more specific information.

Reaction Innovations Sweet Beaver
Game, Out here in AZ, they are all the rave. Check out www.reactioninnovations.com and they have some pictures for rigging them. My favorite is to rig them backwards and put a lead nail weight in the nose and you can get them to fall away from you. Works great for overhangs and docks.

what's favorite jig trailer
Game, Reaction Innovations Sweet Beavers are my pretty much the only trailer that I use. There are so many colors that you can match many different jigs/skirts.

Need a new set of jigs
Check out the jigs from www.conquistadortackle.com The shirts are attached with wire instead of a rubber band and the colors are amazing. I also like to use Reaction Innovations Beavers for trailers.

Hook Sets With Weedless Jigs?
Do you trim the weed guards on your jigs before you throw them? I know that a lot of time the individual plastic strips are joined together at the end. Try trimming a bit of the end off and spreading the stips out so they fan out at the end. Make sure that you don't trim the guard too much, cause when you bend it back sometimes it will be below the hook (found that one out the hard way many a time) If the guard is not flexible enough it could be preventing the hook from setting on the hard set. Maybe when your are just reeling in, it is putting enough steady pressure on the guard to pop the hook through. Give it a try, it might help. In my experience with weedless jigs I have not had a problem using my normal hookset.
