Plastic Grubs in Bulk- Fort Peck Trip
They have what I want! Thanks. I've been looking for days. They have what I want as well! Including Z man grubs although they are out of stock on 1 specific color. Either way, thanks a bunch. I hadn't looked at TW.

Plastic Grubs in Bulk- Fort Peck Trip
don't see 100 packs on their web site. Action plastics never heard of them. They have 100 packs but I don't see green pumpkin. Have CC tubes already. Yes they make a good tube. Looking for grubs in 100 ct. Green pumpkin specifically.

Plastic Grubs in Bulk- Fort Peck Trip
Just returned from a short 3 day trip to Fort Peck. Tubes worked OK, swimbaits worked OK. But I made a small adjustment and thing picked up, then I made another small adjustment and really began to hammer them. I began throwing a 3" green pumpkin BPS grub. I WAS throwing an unpainted jig head. I switched to a chartruese jighead and the bite was on! My partner was annoyed. He cast to one particular rock 5 times with his swimbait while I was picking out a backlash. My 1st cast to the rock I got bit on the drop almost instantly. He was ticked off. Not at me but the fish. I offered to give him one but he said no. Another small adjustment really helped as well. I don't have a foot peddle so I make trolling motor adjustments with the I pilot remote. As soon as I stopped my retrieve to make a trolling motor adjustment , Bang! Once we noticed that, we added a pause to our retrieve we would get bit more often and most off the time it was on the drop. Anyway, I went through almost all of my grubs! i have 1 pack left. The BPS grubs come in a 9 pack. I'm looking for a bulk pack, so I can save some money. 3-4$ for 9 little grubs seems expensive for what your actually getting. We're going back next week. I'm looking for a bulk pack of green pumpkin 3-4" grubs. Looked on Cabela's and BPS and don't see any bulk packs that offer green pumpkin. Any idea where I can get some? i don't think brand will matter. Thanks in advance .

Charging 24 volt trolling motor
So after further inspection, My SnL noticed what appeared to be an inverter tucked behind the batteries. It's hard to see under there especially for a guy without his glasses. This got me to thinking. Why would there be an inverter by the batteries? Then it hit me. That's not an inverter but an on board charger! I started looking for a plug by the bow which is where the plug has been on every boat that an on board charger that I've ever been in. No plug? I go back to the battery box and start looking in there w/ a flashlight. Wa La! All coiled up, tucked out of sight was the plug cord! I plugged her in and we're good to go, except I just realized the wife turned the garage light off which is the plug the boat is hooked up to. Could have been bad since we're leaving tomorrow. Thanks for the help. I post pic's when we get back.

Kayak Anchor
I like it! That might work in rivers as well.

Charging 24 volt trolling motor
That's what I thought. Thanks. Since they're jumpered together won't the 2nd battery charge as well?

Kayak Anchor
That water has a LOT of power. I was pinned to the yak by the current. Holding on with one hand and trying to untie the anchor with other. Pretty hard to untie anything but your shoe laces one handed. In 51 degree water, current, it's almost impossible. All I had to do was work my way around to the down current side of the yak and roll in. i kinda panicked after a while and said screw it. It's "only" 30 yds. That 30 yds was HARDEST 30 yds i ever swam in my life. when you go under and you don't plan to. That's when you kick it into a gear you don't know you have. Completely wore me out but i made it. Barely! My PFD was right there! Why i didn't grab it I don't know. I do know why i wasn't wearing it though. Over confidence! Been paddling for 40 yrs.I thought, I don't make mistakes. If I do, then I know I can get myself out of a jam. Well I was wrong. WAY wrong. Look up kayak anchor on Striper Online. That's where I got the idea.

Charging 24 volt trolling motor
I graduated to boat ownership after a life time of canoes and kayaks. I'm new to this kinda stuff. So I'm prepping the boat for my trip to Fort Peck. Charged the outboard batteries. Then I look at the trolling motor batteries. Not sure what i'm looking at. Are they in series or parallel? Where do you hook the leads? Hot wire comes from trolling motor to positive. From the negative, a wire goes over to the positive of the other battery then the black goes from the negative of that battery to the trolling motor. Don't want to make a mistake.

Kayak Anchor
Mass Yak, I'm not sure if your fishing rivers or lakes but if your fishing rivers that style anchor can get you killed. I had a mishap last yr. Long story. Short version is it stuck in the rocks. Very stuck! current got me in a bas situation while trying to free the anchor. Turtled in 51 degree water in the middle of river. No knife. Spent too much time in water trying to get it unstuck or untied. I was worried about hypothermia. I didn't think it through and just decided to swim for the bank. About that time, my boots filled up with water and I sank. Got very VERY tired. Barely made it to where I could touch and walked in the rest of the way. Very scary. Worst part was my PFD was sitting in the bow! Stupid! Stupid! Stupid! i learned a lot of lessons that day. So if your fishing where there's any current don't use that type anchor. I made my own. I found a proto type on SOL. Basically a claw w/ bendable copper ground wire. Always comes loose. Rocks, trees etc. Hope this helps. Stay safe. Where your PFD! Tight Lines, Rob in Montana

Deep Cranking
Your putting a crank on an umbrella rig? Never heard of anyone doing that before. Interesting concept.

Deep Cranking
Catt, It's too late. They've been shipped. Be here tomorrow. I'll give em a try if these don't work out. I'm sure they'll work in Texas and Montana! Sounds like you and me are the only ones using deep cranks on spinning gear! I see your using braid as well, does that present any problems?

Deep Cranking
That figures, placed a a small order last night. 1/4,1/2, and 3/4. All medium bill. Oh well, trying something new is fun. We'll see. As far as the deep diver go, I did see that option(DD22's). I honestly went w/6th Sense because we are having good luck on their squarebill cranks and they seem to be made well. Also they are a lot of good reviews down in Texas. Gotta go make a living. I'll check in tonite. Thanks again

Weedless swimbait hooks
A-Jay, thanks for the tip. Placed another order! Hopefully it arrives before we leave. More tacke, more Tackle! My wife says i have enough to start my own buisness.

Deep Cranking
WRB, You have me sold. I really like what I've read so far. What sizes? Looks like the Tennessee River makes some good ones. Standard or finesse? 1/4 oz for the river, 1/2oz medium deep for rock piles on the lake, 3/4oz for the deep rock piles? What size bills?

Deep Cranking
I'm searching scrounger heads as we speak! I like what I'm reading so far. Thanks a bunch for info. Swimbaits, spinnerbaits, and tubes are my go to confidence baits. Although i do like throwing medium cranks for smallies. Two methods I've been looking at are hair jigs, and spoons for deep fish. This will be my 1st trip where deep bass may come into play although I hope not. A buddy caught 27lb Smallmouth limit in practice for the State Championship. They were all at 25 - 30'.

Deep Cranking
I've seen this jig head before but never tried one. Just checked them out. You have me intrigued. Certainly won't have any trouble getting down to them. Do you have much success with them? Too late. I ordered some 6th Sense cranks from TW last week. Is it all about the gear ratio? I guess my main concern was would braid improve the cranks ability to get deep. I kinda figured my forearms would be sore. I've always been a small water, small bait kinda guy so I don't own a single BC setup. all spinning. No time to learn now. I leave Thurs for the 1st trip.

Weedless swimbait hooks
A Jay, I like the design! This is kinda what I was thinking of. I see they're available at TW which figures since i just placed an order with them.

how to fish tubes for smallies
Juice bass, there you have it. that's about as comprehensive as it gets. If your not fishing tubes for smallies then you probably should be. In fact they catch everything. I've caught SMB, LMB, freshwater drum, carp, rainbow trout, brown trout, catfish, golden eye ,northern pike etc. I believe if it swims it will probably eat a tube. Mod 479, I might add a few things, when going weedless I don't use a Yama weight. I use a simple old teardrop sinker w/ the twisted wire top.Insert the sinker in wire first, Feed the EWG hookeye through the tube and wire loop and back out and tex pose the hook it like normal. Works just as well and cheaper than buying special weights. Also another way to fish a tube is on a drop shot rig. Works well when you run out of senkos. Tight Lines

Deep Cranking
I'm not much of a deep crank'r. Mostly because where I fish is too shallow. I'm planning 2 trips this summer where deep water will come into play. After watching KVD and other have success targeting the deeper fish. It's probably a good idea to at least get the basics. As I understand it, the smaller the line the deeper the plug will go. The longer the rod, the longer the cast, the deeper the plug will go. Although I don't have a rod specifically set up for deep cranking I do happen to have a 7'10" spinning rod with a lower gear ratio reel on it. I understand it's not what these guys are using but it's what I have and i don't have the jingle for a new set up right now. the reel is set up w/ 15lb which is like 4 or 6lb diameter mono equivelent. In theory that braid fished w/ a fluro leader should get down pretty good because of the line diameter. I realize I won't have the stretch of using all fluro. Will this set up work? A new deep crank setup isn't in the budget right now. Just trying to make do w/ what I have. Anyone have any experience w/ deep cranking?

Weedless swimbait hooks
I fish swimbaits quite a bit especially in the spring and fall. I usually use a 3.5"-4.5" swimbait w/ a standard jighead 1/8th-1/4oz. Works great but when the river gets really mossy they get to be a PIA. I"ve never texas rigged one but I can see the advantages especially when flipping under branches or bouncing one off a rocky bottom. So, what hooks and what size? unweighted Swimbait hook w/ a slip sinker? or these weighted swimbait hooks.
