  1. Exactly what I've been using aside from color and I think I know how to use it adequately but I just don't get many strikes on it currently. I might just be in a slump, Ill keep at it. Thanks for the input for sure. I'm going to give this a shot today. Ill be out there in about an hour and flip it around and see what happens. Thanks!
  2. Hey all, I am currently only banks fishing and the main lake I have access to is so thick with algae right now that I am having a hard time getting anything in the water without immediately pulling up tons of algae and foliage. I have tried some top water baits at this location but don't seem to get many strikes on them. Does anyone have any tips that could help me get through the algae at all? I have even tried the weightless senko and it just seems like no matter what tactic I use I catch more junk than fish. I am fishing Greenbrier Lake in Robertson County TN and it isn't the biggest lake by any means but it is what I have to work with and I am able to stop there on my way to and from work most days. Any help is appreciated!
  3. I love all of them but I still love the old school stuff like Bill Dance and Hank Parker. One of my favorites, not on the list, is Oneill Outdoors. I like that he does a bunch of different types of fishing, hunting, and always has the big green egg cooking segment towards the end.
  4. You have one of these and like it? I have seen them go on ebay for like $50 or around there.
  5. I am looking at picking up a Okuma Komodo Low Profile baitcasting reel. It is the KDR-273V. Someone on craigslist has one locally that I can pick up for $80 and its in "like new" condition with the box and papers and all. It will be used for fishing from the banks and not sure what rod I'm going to pick up for it yet. Is this a good deal for one of these and is anyone currently using one that can give me some feedback? I've never used an Okuma reel before. Thanks in advance!
  6. What kind of bait were you using? That lake holds some big bass. We used to do pretty well up there with live bait. They have a bass club in that area that does a lot of mini tournaments and cool stuff. I miss being able to roll out of bed and go get a few casts in before work. Best thing about Lake Tarpon is it doesn't get crazy busy this time of year like some of the other bigger Florida lakes.
  7. Used to be my home lake! Love Lake Tarpon. I used to live right there in Cobbs Landing. Gotta watch out for the gators though.
