Check out SealSkinz. They're waterproof gloves and they both keep your hands dry and extremely warm. On the really cold days, I'll even stuff a small hot-hands in there. Doesn't get much better.

Fluorocarbon is a must when it comes to drop shotting...for me at least. Like mentioned, your hooks are not ideal for drop shotting either. I recommend getting some smaller hooks (1/0). For the hooks, stop by Bass Pro and get some Owner Mosquito hooks (http://www.basspro.com/Owner-Mosquito&153;-Hooks/product/30024/133072). These are by far my favorite and require very little pressure to hook up with a fish.

Went out for my birthday today with a good friend and tore the fish up at this farm pond. On top of a 6 pound birthday bass for myself, my buddy Trent caught this guy. We're estimating around 8 pounds, but want to see what you guys think. Any takers??

Recommend anything with similar results that aren't so expensive?

I too am registered to be a Marshall this year (Bull Shoals). When signing up it said I would receive a packet in 4-6 weeks, but I have yet to receive anything. Is there a possibility that I did not get the spot? I guess what I'm wondering is that when I signed up it said nothing is for sure until you get the packet, and if what you guys are saying is correct, and I get the packet a week or two in advance, then that would suck..I like to have stuff planned and arranged.

Yes you can, only 3 out of the 5 may contain hooks though.
