  1. Fished Sandy last Sunday and caught about 8. I didn't go real far up. Most were pretty small and caught them all on salamander. May try Briery this coming weekend. Weather has been hit and miss with highs in 80s and 60s, don't think fall bite is in full effect.
  2. Fished Briery twice and it's a good lake. Haven't fished it in the fall yet but imagine with all the stumps in there the top water bite should be good. First time I went caught about 12 in a few hours on senkos but it was kind of middle of day. Imagine early or later in day would produce good bite . Def gotta pay attention out there trolling around, I hit numerous stumps. No motors over 10hp so have to use trolling motor if you show up in a bigger boat.
  3. Guy showed me pictures of crappie caught in april and had over 50 with some close to 14". I've only been out there once but it was mid day. Would like to try it early morning. I've mainly stuck with Chick lake.
  4. Chickahominy lake is good. Not as active has late spring early summer but still catching fish this summer. Looking forward to fall. Catch a lot on senkos. Smaller lake so easy to get around and not crowded at all. If you want to venture head up in the creeks.
  5. Talked to a guy that caught close to 100 crappie out there like 4 weeks ago but not sure about the bass. I've caught at least 1 over 3lbs every weekend for last 4 weeks at Chickahominy Lake.
  6. I am up near Richmond area and fished Briery about 4 weeks ago. Took the kids out between 10am and 4pm. Got 12 in the boat but biggest was probably 2lbs. Mostly on senkos. Daughter caught some on crankbait. Normally fish chickahominy lake and last 2 weekends we've pulled out a 5 and two 4s. Thinking about hitting Briery again today or tomorrow. Nice lake to putt around in. Chick has been distributing some big bass tho early morning and late afternoon.
  7. I've recently grabbed some bass around 2lb range near the cypress trees. After the rain this evening I'm hoping they'll be shallow tomorrow and the lily pads will produce. May have to make ways back up in Creek depending on where the clearer water is. Good luck!
  8. May try to drive up to Briery tomorrow if rain not too bad. Assuming you can still take bass boat in there as long as you use trolling motor only with 10hp rule. Definitely looking forward to pulling some lunkers out with some senkos.
  9. Went out yesterday to Chick lake after short storms, not much luck. Water temp 61. Guy at bait shop said quite a few crappie caught prior to weather coming in and a guy came in with a 6 and LM. Gonna head back out again today.
  10. Haven't tried the river yet but will soon. Going back out Saturday and maybe even Sunday. Water Temps should stay warm it looks like. Hopefully bite will be still good. May have to look at the chatterbaits, haven't tried those. Thanks for the compliment Darren!
  11. Temp around 64 today at the lake. Crowded since it was so nice. Caught bass, pickerel and a couple of crappie. All in shallow water. Crappie and pickerel caught on minnows and blue jig tube with white tail. Bass caught on black and chartreuse crankbait. One keeper. Just started fishing chickahominy since I got a boat. Looking forward to river and possibly diascund resevoir even though it's electric only.
