Hello, I'm Eric and have been reading posts on here for some time as I Google for information. I usually fish small lakes less than 1000 acres across the state of VA but usually near charlottesville. I am currently looking for any information about fall fishing briery creek lake in Farmville, va. I read enough that the first thing I did was message Wayne P and looking forward to his response :D. It's my first trip to this lake after reading about it for years so I'm ecstatic!!! Looking forward to being a member and appreciate any advice about this lake. Thanks for reading

Welcome! :)

Hi Eric. My name is Timm and I live just over the mountain in Waynesboro. Just wondering which lakes you normally fish. I generally fish albemarle and beaver creek. Went to albemarle today and only caught 4 small bass.

We've been to briery two times. It is an amazing lake. Just be careful and take your time getting around. We plan on going back sometime next year.

Fished Briery twice and it's a good lake. Haven't fished it in the fall yet but imagine with all the stumps in there the top water bite should be good. First time I went caught about 12 in a few hours on senkos but it was kind of middle of day. Imagine early or later in day would produce good bite . Def gotta pay attention out there trolling around, I hit numerous stumps. No motors over 10hp so have to use trolling motor if you show up in a bigger boat.

Fished Sandy last Sunday and caught about 8. I didn't go real far up. Most were pretty small and caught them all on salamander. May try Briery this coming weekend. Weather has been hit and miss with highs in 80s and 60s, don't think fall bite is in full effect.
