  1. This year i really started pitching and flipping into the heaviest junk i could find. Used to be afraid of loosing those tungstens, but since i started fishing em in the real junk ive caught waaay more. Including my PB
  2. Oh yeah forgot about those. Might have to snag a couple, thanks!
  3. How balanced is the flipping special? Ive had 1 rod over 7'6" and it was very tip heavy. Just worried the 7'9" Orochi would feel like a keg at the end
  4. I pitch a lot with 1/2-1oz weights and jigs. Typical lilly pads, cabbage, reeds and wood, with either braid or heavy fluoro. A heavier rod isn't a big issue, i just love a balanced rod. Have a dx703 and it feels weightless
  5. They call em "seconds" but most of the time, i cant tell whats wrong. They have a 1 year warranty, which is fine with me
  6. In the market for a balanced, heavy cover rod. Looking at an Orochi XX flippin special, wondering how the balance is? Im open to all suggestions, and can nearly any Croix at 50% off from the factory. The Orochi has me interested though. Thoughts? Thanks!
  7. Mint Quantum Energy 770, this things a beaut! Sadly I have months before I can test it...
  8. My new pb, 5.35. Northern Wi fall bite is on!!
  9. Duckett doesnt list lure or line ratings for some reason. At least not on this Micro Magic. Perhaps on others.
  10. Recently purchased my first Micro Magic rod because it was on sale! Its the 7'6" extra heavy model. Usually fish St.Croixs, but always willin to test others. If anyone has this particular model, what are some things you use it for? I was going to use it strictly for pitching heavy weights, etc. Just curious what others use it for!
  11. Newest member of the arsenal.
  12. I recently purchased a new St.Croix medium, extra fast 6' 8" casting rod at a tremendous price from the factory. I think i just had to get it after seeing it lol. What are some things you guys might use this rod for? And suggestions are greatly appreciated. Currently has a Daiwa Alphas 103 F on it. Would braid be a bad choice on this rod?
  13. Annoying? Besides pontooms/jet skiers, up here in Wisconsin its the dang horse/deer flies..
  14. I found an old Abu Ambassadeur 6500c reel in pretty dang good shape in a dumpster at my work. Everything seems to work fine, just needs some tlc. Was wondering if anyone uses one of these still? And for what purpose? Thanks!
  15. Bear Lake, outta Barron county
  16. It was very windy, indeed. Managed to catch this 3lber on a swim jig on my limited time out.
  17. I use and like it. Have 50lb and 40lb on 2 setups. I had some 20# on a light baitcaster that seemed to have a defect where the braid was actually frayed slightly. It broke while casting in the yard (luckily), and at a small tug. I have had ZERO issues besides that one spool. Love it on my other 2 setups. I think next time ill try something different though, even if it was a fluke.
  18. Hmm, interesting. I bought a pack about a week ago at Scheels and it seems normal. Pics were taken on my phone in bad lighting but they are that deep red color. Maybe your pack was a fluke?
  19. My first high end casting reel, and my second Shimano. Cant wait for Wisconsin spring!
  20. Does anyone have the measurements for bearings in a Daiwa Alphas Type F? Particularly the pinion bearing. And maybe a place to buy them? Tried to take a pic. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  21. Ive eaten pike before. And if its on the table, ill eat it. But i wouldnt eat a muskie, no thank you. And besides, all my lakes have 50" legal size. If you eat one of those, im not saying much to ya after.
  22. Yet another vote for Mepps
  23. I dont own an IMX but do own that exact Avid X. And thats exactly what i use it for. So much power, fantastic rod. I highly recommend
