I use a palomar for line-lure connection. For line-leader I generally use an alberto but it has failed me multiple times. Any line-leader suggestions?

So today I went out on my local golf course ponds to see if any fish were on beds yet. Sure enough 2 4-5 pound fish were sitting right where I could pitch to. Bigger of the 2 ate my jig immediately and I set the hook. My leader to main line knot broke and now the fish has a 3/8 oz black and blue AP jig in her lip. What I want to know is: -How necessary are leaders when bed fishing? (Is straight braid ok?) -Will the jig rust out? (Hate to see a fish like that have a jig in it for the rest of its life...) I'm really not too mad about losing the fish, more worried that it won't be able to spawn because of my jig.

I would use anywhere from 45-60 pound braid depending on how thick it actually is, I like 45 for frogging because of its castability, 60 for punching because of all of that crap you'll likely bring up with a lunker. Good luck and tight lines! Also make sure you use a long heavy power rod for these applications, I've broken a few Medium-Heavy rods trying to flip matted grass

If I'm pond hopping or doing some type of fishing that I know I'll get bit, then I absolutely prefer a partner. If I'm trying out a new technique or going to a new body of water I prefer fishing alone so I can focus on trying to figure out the bass.

Was screwing around on a golf pond burning a lipless crank over the same stretch of grass repeatedly. After around 10-15 casts of this the biggest LMB I've ever had on the end of a rod smoked it. Jumped twice and as I was bringing it along the bank the 12# mono snapped. Has been haunting me ever since it happened...

I always bring a Medium 7' spinning rod with braid to fish things like weightless senkos, wacky rigs, shakyheads and even poppers. These are confidence baits for me and work most of the year along the bank. I also will occasionally bring a second rod for light crankbaits/spinnerbaits/buzzbaits if they want a moving bait. As far as storage goes a good size backpack with your tackle trays and things like a rain jacket, pliers, sun protection, and water on stand-by. Those cover the bases for me, good luck!

So I am saving up for a good all around squarebill/lipless crank/jerkbait rod. I am really leaning towards the Powell Inferno lineup due to price and previous experiences with Powell rods. I like a spinnerbait or really any moving bait you have confidence in, especially if its a warm rain.

My favorite pond in the area is full of grass carp, still have good numbers of 3-5 pound bass. If you ask me once I see Chain Pickerel I start to get worried about bass populations more than anything just because of what has happened to my home lake/pond.
