  1. I finally made it out last night, and got skunked. > I hit a private lake near my house in N. Phoenix and threw lots of stuff at 'em but they wanted nothing to do with it. I started with a blade in chartreuse and got a big bump on the 3'd cast but nothing after that. I gave up and threw senkos, sluggos, topwater, worms and swimbaits... but nobody was interested. The water is cooling off a bit so I'm hoping the bite picks up soon. The lake was really productive before the summer.

Sounds like an awesome day! I read an article not long ago talking about fishing new spots in order to weed them out. It obviously worked for you!
  3. Congrats on a new PB!! And kudos for trying something new and making it work too.
  4. The big ones come later? My biggest striper is about 2#... I need more time on the water! Nice fish!
  5. From someone who knows nothing about coloring... I would guess that the colors might get darker in winter since there's less sunlight. Darker coloring might provide better camouflage during the winter months?
  6. That's cool that your wife enjoys fishing, my wife has no interest in it, and my kids are still too young too. Looks like a nice day out with the family, and nice fish too!

  11. Nice fish! I gotta try that wacky rig more often, I've done it a couple times but haven't had any luck yet.
  12. Very nice! I just got a Revo myself... it's a sweet reel. Good job pulling fish out of that soup!
  13. I just bought some Reaction Innovation skinny dippers for similar reasons... you might take a look at those too. They hover around 6" under the surface..
  14. Very nice! That's a good amount of fish for 1.5 hour session.
  15. There's something about a kid holding a fish that can brighten anyone's day. Way to go dad!!
