  1. I store my boat in a field at the campground where I am seasonal (no power nearby) and hook the TM battery to a 100 watt solar panel and waterproof charge controller with a quick-disconnect and it will charge the battery. I've run the TM all day, maybe 6-8 hours, hooked it up when I got back and within 12-24 hours it would be at full charge again (depending on the sun, of course). The location does get full sun all day long, so your mileage may vary.
  2. I don't know you're located, but that seems a bit high. I'm selling my 2016 Tracker Pro 170 for $11k. Just saying...
  3. Thanks to all for the suggestions. The track systems I've been able to find are pretty wide (approx. 3") and are undoubtedly very useful, but not really practical for my boat without very much vertical space on the sides to mount them. I realize I'd have to drill if I decided to go that way, but I'm not quite ready to do that. Maybe on my next boat...
  4. I've looked at the options others have mentioned and all require drilling and I'm not ready to do that yet (if ever). I guess for now, I'll make do with what I have...
  5. I'm feeling the need to accessorize my 2016 Tracker Pro 170, but without the VersaTrack system found on other Tracker models, I'm not sure what works well. I was thinking about rod holders, bow sockets to hold slats to keep my cover up, etc. I really don't want to drill any holes if I don't have to. Anybody have any suggestions? I'm also looking for recommendations for mounting a transducer for a second sonar unit on my Minn Kota Edge 45 trolling motor. I've seen the plastic housings that strap to the motor, but I don't think they would work with the narrower transducer my Lowrance Hook 3 uses.
  6. Does the box anchor work well on rocky bottoms? They are pretty lightweight, no?
  7. I have a seasonal campsite for my 5th wheel with no room at the site to park my boat. I keep it in an open field on the campground and hook the TM battery up to a 100 watt Renogy solar panel (approx. $110) with a Flexcharge PV7D charge controller ($67) with a 10 ga. quick disconnect. I lay the panel on a couple of cheap sawhorses and the sun does the rest. This setup will top off a 1/2 discharged TM battery in about 1 to 3 days, depending on the sun. The PV7D charge controller will handle two batteries independently, so it could be used for 24V applications.
  8. I lost an anchor yesterday for the first time ever, an eight pound mushroom type (wedged between some rocks, apparently). I need a new one and have been looking at the different types available and am not sure what I should get. I fish from a Tracker Pro 170, mostly on Lake Champlain (rocky bottom) but sometimes smaller ponds and lakes with sandy or muddy bottoms. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
  9. As an FYI, all Stewarts Shops in northern NY have ethanol-free premium (91 octane).
