  1. Any shallow areas I should checkout within earshot of mill creek?
  2. I fished a small tournament on the lake today. I didn't practice and haven't been on the lake in a couple months. I fished near NTBSP. A lot dirtier than I've seen it and the salvinia is everywhere. Couldn't get a topwater bite going and not much else fishing slow. I started throwing a floating rogue, chrome/blue/orange, around shallow around bushes and submerged grass in 4 fow pretty much working it as fast as I could and started getting bit. Had 7 bites on that with one close to 4 pounds. I figured that bite out a little too late and it died off. Picked up a couple more midday with a jig on a bush and a dock. One more last minute on a chatterbait. Finished with 10.66 good for 2nd. A lot of guys who fished deep struggled and it was won up shallow.
  3. Anybody got a shallow bite going?
  4. I live between Lake Charles and Iowa on 90. I've never fished lacassine. If you guys are ever down this way again I'd love to tag along.
  5. I only use those same colors as well. But I stuck with the standard size.
  6. I tried to feed them the ribbet all day Saturday. 2 swats and that was that. I guess I just wasn't where the fish were.
  7. Saturday was tough. Had three nonkeeper bites early and then it just seemed like they just shut off before the rain came. Just couldn't find them. Water looked completely different since I was in San Miguel last.
  8. Appreciate ya. We gotta link up one day.
  9. I won't be able to practice for a club tournament this weekend. So I'm gonna live and die by some shallow San Miguel spots. How have they been fishing?
  10. I like it back there and I also like those sand bars and islands at the point of San Miguel and 1215. I've been curious about those cypress tree island islands in the back of San Miguel too. Always a tons of birds. I feel if the water was up that would be a fun spot to flip.
  11. In the very back of San Miguel?
  12. I think we've been fishing the same spot ?
  13. What are you throwing that swimbait to? Grass?
  14. Today was the my first full day of fishing on the lake. I caught 7. I did some scouting and idling last Thursday and didn't do much fishing at all. This place can be overwhelming. I launched at San Miguel. Water was as high as 74 in some places. I got a 4 pounder on a toad in 1215 near north Toledo bend state park in a foot and a half of water near buck brush and submerged grass. I didn't make it there until close to 11 but I assume that bite would be better in the morning. The carp over there are nuts. The rest came on a squarebill on rip rap on the south bank of San Miguel. Cozy point etc
  15. Any areas near San Miguel worth checking out?
