They have a detailed head? Have you rigged one how do they fit?

I love EP bullet weights. Bluegill in particular Yes I will use on hand made bladed jigs as trailers. Im looking for a jig head with detailed head and eyes. I have weight ewgs but think jig head would be better presentation

I have weight hooks but want a few jigs heads. Looked at dirty jigs and mega bass. What's your favorite?

I looked for the bag the other day after talking about it. It needed washers and a spring.Think I tossed it anyhow... It was lefty they needed to get rid of 9-10 years ago at GandM, paid 350+ . I opted for a Metanium Mgl this time around. Rod and reel under a pound. Nice setup more than enough power but so smooth. Shimano is the better company in my mind. Who has the better reel idk till I throw a newer steez. I loved my old Steez too. I have a Stella and a sustain spinning I need serviced.

Just saying john..lol I want a reel comany that's spend more time making a quality product and less time trying flood the market and trick customers. A Zillion weights 7.4-7.9 Oz. If I want light weight I have to pay extra for the steez. I have a broken one in the back, asked me how it worked out last time..lol Was trying to help the next guy that reads this forum. IMO the Metanium jdm is a superior reel for 325 shipped. Same reason I chose Dobyns DX rods over Loomis now. Quality with a great price point, can't pass it up!

I was trying to do too much with 1 rod. I elected to go with a DX745, I get the DX 795 latter.. Rod came in and I love the new Doybns blanks! Smaller circumference, lighter weight and just as strong. After some research I'm going with a Shimono Metanium jdm at the same price as a zillion. As for you Diawi guys.. Diawi has a ton of models all different price with same parts. I don't want to deal with a company with less than ethical marketing strategy. That's just me. Tight lines guys thanks for your input!

Hey guys been following old thread. I appreciate the effort in the review! I just got a Doybns 745DX and wanted a great reel for it. Almost went zillion but for that money 7.4oz was too heavy. I'll be doing jigs and light Trig stuff. This guy says I can get either one 325 shipped. I may jump on it. Which one should I get? Recommend gear ratio? How do you feel about it a year latter?

Out of curiosity anyone know where to get the 3in Eakins craws? Are they discontinued?

When I say best I mean compact, comfortable and light. The reel should balance out the rod perfectly. I've never touched this rod before so I'm trusting these guys..lol

Thank you for your experience. I have a 734 and 735 champ. I love the 734. Actually pitch 1/4 with it now. I'd like the DX 795 to take its place and also do punching with 1 1/4 Oz. Curious what reels do you pair with your Dobyns?

How do you like your DX 745? Is it the newer DX series with the AAA cork? I guessing your 745 is the same blank just 5 inches shorter? How's the weight? 795 is a long rod for me. I'm short but the Again 5 inches may be a pain. What's your thoughts?

I bought a steez decade or more ago. Just didnt hold up and couldnt find parts or get repaired. I prefer 30lb 832 or straight 14-20lb FC Sniper. Live in the Northeast now, nothing too nasty up here.

I read about the tws system. Did you notice and extra casting distance? Never heard of zillion.. Thank you I will check out the link tonight

I've decided to go with a Dobyns DX 795 FLIP. I need to be able to fish the light 1/4 oz and still be able to punch 1 1/4, think DX795 will fit me needs. I'm looking to pair it with the best reel for the rod! I mostly use shimono but I have tourney series Lews on my other two Doybns. Just happened to find a deal on those. Suggestions?

I could call and bug him..lol I cast last month and asked about a 682 spinning. I don't feel comfortable spending big money on a cranking rod. I went with Loomis GLX for my 5/16 and lighter cranks. As far as flipping I need to be able to fish 1/4 Oz trigs and still be able to punch 1 1/4 Oz. I read an older thread and I think I'm going with DX 795 FLIP. I'm hoping it's not too stiff, I like a med heavy. I'm starting a new thread, what's best reel for DX 795 FLIP.. lol Thank you guys!

Not worried about the price. But Doybns offer a great discount for veterns. I own 734c and 735c Champ Series. I love the 734 but the 735 that I use for buzz frogs where's me out! Any experience with the DX795 Flip?

I'm reviewingredients old threads. I'm looking at the 2016 DX 795FLIP. I want a LIGHT rod and not too stiff. Description says med heavy which should be perfect but i thought the 5 means heavy power.. Need to be able use 1/4oz to 1 1/4 baits. I have it narrowed down to doybns or an over priced loomis glx/nrx. Any input is appreciated.

Looking for above average flip and pitch rod! Looking at a few Doybns and G loomis. My concern with Doybns is the weight. If I pay that kind of money I want a super light stick. I've never seen a Loomis FPR so Idl there. Thoughts and opinions appreciated!

I'm new and don't know how to reply properly. The 734 seems more of a jig rod but that great it's so versatile. I'm thinking Dobyns 734 Fury series. I can pick one up at my local Dick's for 109.00. Other Option is using a MH I have for the rest of the year and picking up the Champion series for next year. But right now those big summer bass are hiding in grass in 6 inches of water. That morning top water is the ticket and this technique is crucial. OH ONE MORE QUESTION, SLIPT HANDLE OR FULL HANDLE??? Decisions...lol

I reviewed archived posts and reviews but I need an update.. Im up north not alot of heavy stuff. I dont need a broom stick and im fishing the soft plastic ribbits. Maybe a hollow body time to time. GLoomis has resigned their frog rods with a lighter weight but I can't find any reviews and 260.00 seems steep. Dobyns and ST Croix Legend seem to be the best reviewed but seem just as expensive. The sites are hard to navigate with all the different "series" they offer. I need the series name with the model number. Fishing tournaments and Im looking for the best all around stick. Appreciate all info, thanks
