Going through old posts. I'm surprised by some of the responses.. Best Trig fluke/senko rod ever made is the Nrx 893c or Nrx 853s imo. Imx/Imx-pro is pretty dang close as well. If I'm nose hooking fluke or wacky style senko I'll move to 802s or 852c. Did it by accident once and I stuck and landed all my fish..lol I use zoom but mostly I prefer the Yamamoto D shads. Better casting distance, you can work them under surface without a nail weight and they fall similar to a senko when you kill it. They tear easy but I prefer the advantages. Also I find when I use straight FC it kills the side to side action. FC sinks this is a problem esp on long casts. This also creates "slack" in your line on the hook set. Slack is an issue on any hookset regardless of line. I feel it pops the fish's mouth open before hook penetration. Any good med heavy rod for trigs and a med for nose hook. I prefer braid to FC leader. Reel out your slack and pull.

Matt, That 852 also excellent topwater popper, walking bait rod. Happens I saw a used nrx 893 on Fishing flea market on fb. Looks to be in excellent shape. His same was Jordan Mathis. He wanted a trade for a high end Powell but I suspect trading for cash is good option as well..lol I'd offer him 350 shipped. That's 175 bucks off of retail +Tax. Long as you use PayPal your insured for scams and such! Good Hunting and even at 400 it's still a decent deal

I emailed them last week no response. From my understanding they moved HQ from California to Texas and are extremely busy getting setup.

Can anyone explain to me the difference between the 705cb glass and 705cbmf glass? Also I'm looking at a 704cb glass for jerkbaits and smaller cranks like SR5's but I've always used spinning gear for these. Does dobyns offer a spinning glass rod similar to the 704 glass?

Matt this is the best Senko rod on the planet WRB you're correct I used the wrong term. I believe they go hand to hand but I'm always pitching. Technology and such with these high speed rods & reels I can PITCH in almost any situation but across my body or skip.. I'm no elite series pro but I'm learning..lol

Update. Almost a year later. 1st of all thank all of you for your input. This was an incredible light, sensitive rod and versatile rod. From weightless to bottom contact. Imho best trig senko rod in the planet if you put sunline nylon amazing fluke rod. Wacky rig I would choose the 2 power rod over this but it would still get it done. Handled 1/4oz shaky heads +plastic beautifully. Finesse C-rig worked pretty good. Even performed with 1/2 oz tungsten and 10 inch worms! Got in a pinch last week and even chucked 1/2oz traps and yo-yo back to the boat. Only negative I can think of is I now want Nrx 822s dsr, 852c, 823s shr, 873c car etc...lol

I dislike the calitron thats why im here. Last 3 ive bought are crap. One runs on a 45 degree angle and all of the skirts fell off in one day of use... Reading the archives looking for better option

Your 894 doesn't handle anything below 1/2 oz well?

Ive been going through old posts. I have a similar issue. I own a DX 745 paired with Metantium mgl, it's a great rod. I mainly flip T rigs and 1/2 oz jigs with it. I actually hope to c -rig with it next year. Now here is my issue.. My fiance got me a NRX 893c for Xmas, it's on the way. First loomis rod over an IMX and im excited. Can I flip with the NRX 893c?? Mostly 3/8 T rigs and up to 1/2oz jigs. North east guy so nothing too nasty around here but I need that 893c to replace my DX745. Description says med- heavy. Sounds more like a senko/fluke rod to me, which I definitely don't need. But the description also says 3/16 - 5/8 which is perfect weight range. Can I get it done flippin with NRX 893c?? Should I exchange for the NRX 894c mentioned in above article's?? Also I read the 894c is same as DX746 range. I owe a 746 champ and it's my frog rod..lol I don't need anything nearly that heavy.. Anyone have experience with the 893c??

The side street my garage is on is a tight fit. Not enough room to put a boat straight in and out. Only inch or two on either side so no way to jack knife it in. Anyone have any experience with a power trailer dolly system? Looked a few up and seems one awful review after another. Battery goes dead, tires spin, too bulky to store etc.. Boat i plan on purchasing Ranger Z185 because it fits in my garage. What is a good brand with the best price? All advice is appreciated

I've seen jdm for 325 shipped buy still your probably right. I love my MET Mgl. Newer ones have little bigger spool. Bomb light lures I may even crank with one. Thought maybe 3 chronarch mgl instead of 2 more METS. Sell what I have to offset the cost. Maybe next winter. I bet I can find a sale..lol

I would trim the head here. But this could be a nice setup And go with 4.8 or larger that hook is huge
