Towing boat need opinion.
I'd been thinking about making wooden lamp too for transition between driveway and street (the lowest point. I have 2x10 planks enough to make the lamp with 2x4, 2x6 underneath to make triangles support. This project doesn't work for me since it is more step unnecessary and to move in-out those lamp is quite heavy. Anyway I got my adjustable ball mount, I think this should be okay. I also switched garage for my golf cart and 2 kayaks to solve the major problem for my wife. The hight on the tongue is not so bad and I plan to raise more a few inches. Thanks all for input, now I can start my retirement journey LOL.

Advice on flukes and on bullet weights.
If you thread hook in straight and don't just reel and reel for next cast you should have no problem with line twists. When I want to re-cast Fluke I just do quick jerk all the way or reel in super fast to make the lure stay on top of surface.

River2sea rover recommendations
I got 128 in bone color. It walk okay and make a ton of noise. About those feathers tail, I found that it make the lure give tighter side to side action and help with walk n pause action.

Whopper Ploppers
Exactly this ^^^^ just a small piece of floating salad will create a big problem on WP with severe line twisted problem no matter mono or braid. I use WP only in open water and also got sprinker frog when fish around weedy condition.

Tranx handle on curado 70????
Just curiosity, while I searched for met handle happened to see Tranx handle available at tacke trap as well. Even though this is a little reel but it is for lefty reel (curado71) which is not my usual hand. I fish all right reel but this one and want to be able to crank better. I think I cannot keep up with bass when need to and lost one nice bass recently. I can't even reel in buzzbait smooth enough ho finger. I don't have any of this problem with spinning reel so I figure longer handle might help me.

What seems to never work for you...
There are quite a long list for me, and I think it is not gonna improve since I'm still always junk fish/bank beater on boat or kayak. Crank bait deep and shallow drive. I had been shore fishing for a long time and I lost way too many cranks, ways more than fish I caught which is 0 so I told myself not to fish cranks ever again. I still have quite a bit of shallow cranks and might give them more try only when I'm on boat or kayak. lipless. I have not caught single fish on this type. I'm not sure if bass in my lake don't like anything moving fast, I tried crawling as slow as I can on bottom, yo-yo, burn-n-drop nothing work. Small swimbait, same deal as lipless I'm not sure if I reel too fast or too slow or how deep/shallow should I fish it. Spinnerbait, I caught only few fish and my confidence is way low when use this type lure.

Tactical Anglers Power Clips
I use this clip instead of split ring on top water lure. Top water is buoyancy enough that I don't see much of affect.

Walk-The-Dog Line + Leader ?
I have 30lb braid and use #10 CXX about 1' for leader to walk bubble walker. About an hour or so I didnt have any problem at all with treble hook snag on braid and still got side to side action (tighter than spook). I can still do "pop" action with the lure if I want to even when the lure about 30-40 yds away.

Tactical Anglers Power Clips
Bulky? It about the same size as other clips but thicker. it depends what you gonna use it for, if for moving bait like crank bait, lipless chatterbait or even topwater lure should be no problem. Plastic? Normally I don't use clip with those type lures. Jerkbait? Not with this clip since it quite heavier than other clips and would make your jerkbait sink.

Tranx handle on curado 70????
Anyone got these both reels, Tranx 300 paddle handle (102mm) and curado 70? Can you please help me try to see if Tranx handle would fit curado without any modification, nut and lock nut too?

Help with my new Calcutta 200b please
Yes mostly that, spool smaller lighter, less line capacity make it even lighter, lighter spool make it spin faster and yield more distance for lighter weight lure. Overall reel smaller make it lighter and easier to handle. I even use braid as backing and never fill the line to the rim just enough for one bomb cast plus 10-15 more yds(around 70 yds). But also rod power and action can play major part role as well. I traded my Calcutta 50 year ago for some swimbait and now thinking of getting one back but this time might be conquest. I own mostly 50 size reel, 3 of 50 series and 4 of 70. If you not gonna fish anything heavier than 1/2 oz. weight plus plastic you can get away with 50 size reel easily, unless you need more line capacity or need big diameter line.

If you want to see the line peel off you could try Calcutta 100 or even 50 size, better yet get a conquest 100 and you will be very happy and satisfactory. Daiwa Luna might help you a little to manage some backlash especially in windy condition but not for distance department and not with light weight lure. Don't get me wrong it is a very nice reel, own one myself (Luna253), but I would trade for Shimano 300TE in a heartbeat.

fishing alone or with a partner?
I don't know 2 years ago I fish with my buddy a lot and sometime I wish I came out by myself. He is one of those never quit type but I'm family come first. This past two years I mostly fish by myself since my buddy had to moved for his work. He did come visit me last year a few times. Now I wish I had some good buddy that I can fish, share the lures the techniques, heck even talk bad about the wifes while fishing.

Glad you get Calcutta dial in, keep at it and one day you should be able to cast with one eye closed. Just my 2 cents, for lighter / finesse style lure (and yes I considered 1/8 weight plus 6" lizard finesse) less brakes with easy lob cast might yield further distance and more accuracy than more brakes and hard swing. I didn't mean you have to go to no brakes, heck I'm still sometime use 3 brakes on my old Shimano.

Towing boat need opinion.
This ball mount is normally for my Jonboat, I do have another one same drop but with 1 and 3/4 ball for my motorcyclte's. Remounting the ball is easy, just the matter of 1-1/2 socket with 250 lb torque wrench which I don't have both. Anyway I just got the adjustable one (the one I posted). I will have my machanic friend install the ball today and will try to tow the boat tomorrow for my lake inspection. Another reason I got this ball mount because my wife close friend who live here drive a hummer and he gonna be towing this boat when I'm at work, with this new ball mount he can adjust to fit his car (a lot higher than my truck) I know you think I'm lazy but I'd rather spend a bit more money than moving my ball around lol.

1/8 weight plus 6-7" lizard should be close to 3/8 oz. I can cast that with my Cardiff 200a if I need to but of course the distance not gonna be good. He is used to with his Abu 5500 and have not adjust the casting style yet. I remembered when I first switched from Abu 6500 heavy modified to Newell 220-5 (no brake no cast control none sense) for heavy bait. It took me a good hours or days before I could manage some backlash. Even that every now and then backlashes still happen. His problem is, he uses too much cast control (lure fairing dropping) thus he needs to whip to get the lure start moving the harder he whips the faster the spoon spin but with 3/8 oz lure wouldn't pull line out fast enough. That also why he got snap back. The 200 size doesn't have a lot of room for even my small thumb if filled to the rim and I alway leave my thumb with enough gap to control line that coming out of spool.

That would be Luna 203.

Would you be annoyed or am I a jerk?
Next time he asks you just toss him a can of earthworm and tell him guaranteed to catch fish.

Help with my new Calcutta 200b please
Just like @Delaware Valley Tackle mentioned, Abu Garcia is a lot more forgiving than Shimano Calcutta. You experience snap back where you spool spin faster than line pulling out. Try lob cast with all brake on but spool tension loose so the lure fall down slow-medium. Start from there and reduce number of brake in process but don't change any more spool tension.

Post your day box
You don't wanna see mind, seriously lol. It is full of I don't even know what I have in there.

Help with my new Calcutta 200b please
How much line on your spool? What is your lure weight? I found that 200 size Shimano you need to leave a lot of room for your thumb at least 1/3 to the rim. I can cast zoom super Fluke (less than 3/8oz) on my Cardiff 200a no problem with 2 brake on.

Should I be insecure about my boat size?
Size does matter. My wife like it big... that why she got Pontoon boat, she doesn't like my 14' Jonboat lol.

What line to use on new reel.
I'd recommend any copolymer line in #12 - #15 for your tatula CT for all around type. Hybrid is good, I use mostly Izorline now.
