Senko Carp
@MottelI think there is chance but rarely happen. I think carp hit my Senko becuz he thought it is a piece of corn and he was busy chasing girl. If you zoom my picture you would see my Senko and the yellow tail look like a piece of corn. This was mouth hook not snag BTW. Another one here I'm not sure if I snagged him or hook him. The hook was at the out side lip, but I felt the hit before I set hook. Jerkbait is the most I caught/snagged carp on total of 3, this one and 2 snag on dorsel fin.

10ft vs 12ft kayak
If youe budget around (consider accessories like wheel cart and extensions/roof rack), including your health to be able to lift, and your storage, I would go for 12' or bigger. It is more stable and of course more storage. Me, I'm happy with my 10' pescador Pro 100. My lake is pretty small and I don't have to walk a mile to the lake. I op. for something light weight that I can lift up and down from truck to lake and from truck to garage without wheel cart. It is not as stable but if I don't plan to stand up on it, I should be fine. I only fish a few hours each trip so I don't need a whole bunch of room, a backpack, a few boxes, one plastic binder, 3 rods and I'm good to go.

Surprise Catfish
A few week back, I got a good size catfish 5-7 lbs hit my Texas rig brush hog right after it hit the water. This was happen at night and after a few run of it I know right away it was a catfish. I shouted to my fishing buddy, I got catfish on the line even before I saw it, so he can help me land that thing(I hate touching catfish, LOL).

Senko Carp
He said it bottoms his rapala scale at 50lbs so 60lbs maybe, that a huge fatty carp BTW. I bet you wanna fish for carp now, ehh? My Senko carp 23lbs look like a baby compare to your. This one was caught on Senko GP chartreuse tail on Medium rod, Calcutta 50, #4 izorline. It took me at at least 5 min to bring him in.

Do you find that this sport is made difficult and expensive for no reason?
It is just another expensive hobby, but at least I got to use it more often than any other expensive hobby of mine. Motorcycle now is parked in garage have not got on it for the last 9 months, in fact I registered as non-operations this year. Wood working tools, they are in the storage collecting dust, have not touch them for almost 2 years. What else? The wife? Nah I keep that for next time lol.

Having trouble with landing a Fish while in my Kayak
If you find it difficult to lip the fish in kayak, small net would help. I always bring small/short handle net in my kayak, also fish grip can help too. Leave plenty of line when landing fish. I don't put my rod in rod holder just lay it in my arm and between my leg, if you leave enough line you should have no problem doing so. Alway use either net or gripper when landing fish with treble hook, don't estimate bass head shake, it can kiss you in the arse. Check kayak fishing video and see the trick how those ppl landing fish adapt to whatever you comfortable with.

What is your Jerkbait set up?
I separate jerkbait into two groups, 3/8 and below and 3/8 up. I have two dedicated jerkbait rod both 6'6" , M and MH, short handle and no action rated (castaway). I don't use these very often unless I plan fishing for nothing but jerkbait on when I'm on a boat. I mostly use 6'10 M/F for 3/8 and less where can be good for anything plastic and 6'10 MH/F for 3/8 and up and good for all around.

What do you use in the dark?
+1 on chatterbait, also early AM is a golden time for any topwater, WP, buzzbait, pop-R you name it. I like the one that make noise but can be retrieve slowly. You don't even have to cast out far just along the bank should do it. I caught this one a few night ago (1:00AM) about 5' from shore using chatterbait white on white grub.

up grade for crazy kayakers
I might build something like that and have my wife pull me around on her pontoon boat, LOL. This is what I have in mind. I already have lily pad big enough for 3 chairs, anyone wanna join me.

Fishing alone
I always fish alone since my work schedule is not regular and I only fish a couple hour each trip. my old fishing buddy staying with us for now, but still I only fish with him once or twice other than that I fish by myself morning and he fish by himself all day on my boat and my fishing gear. He did pretty good though, a lot better than me.

Backing needed or not?
I have two reels with all braid and have not had any slip problems just simple over spool with arbor knot. If you don't wanna waste a whole 130yds then add backing or spool only 3/4 full.

Tell me your idea of a MH casting rod
I love my MH Daiwa tatula rated 1/4-3/4 oz. I can cast with this rod as light as SP65 and as heavy as WP110 and can handle 3/8 jig with ease.

Are Dressed Treble Hooks Cosmetic?
I try it on jerkbait and don't like it at all, I think it stunted the movement, but with bubble walker and pop-r can't live without it. I'm, in fact, looking for one with inline hook instead of treble hooks.

What is your favorite finesse tactic?
Wacky get my nod. Second would be stand up jig head.

Replacing Shimano Crucial
I also love my crucial especially these gen 2 with eva grip. Mine is 6'11 M/F dropshot rod. I wanted more but can't find any so end up with Compre (green bank) M/F worm/jig rod. Have you try Daiwa Tatula? I hold the one 7'1 MH/XF, it is pretty light weight and backbone is awesome, and sensitivity is compareable. I have two of tatula in 6'10 MH/F and these two become my all around rod. The only complaint I have over tatula is the aluminum handle lock nut. This thing hurt my finger when fishing with jerkbait.

Baitcasters at night...
I agreed with @Cattto set up your reel for night fishing. Setup where you have a little to no over run when lure hit water. You might not get good distance but you should have no problem with backlash as bad. This is, I see the most advantage of magnetic reel especially Daiwa. Once you get used to with blind casting you should be able to slow spool down with your thumb without seeing your lure, unless of course you cast into tree or rock.

Are those foam rod floats worth getting?
The one you posted might have problem getting into reg rod holder or most used DIY PVC pipe. I go with the route of DIY pipe insulation 1/2" hole. The pipe insulation is pretty small diameter so after zip tie, make it low profile enough and you should have no problem with casting. I had done mine last year and never take it off even when I bank fish or in a boat. I do use leashes but only when the rod is not in used.

Fishing Scissors
+1 on boomerang snip, it is the $10 worth spending. I have mine attached to my fishing backpack so I can grab it easily when needed. Like @fishwizzardmentioned I cut reg line on half bottom part and braid top part. I might have to get a second one soon and this time I'll try to get different color so I can have one just for braid.

Whopper plopper 90
Each rod manufacturer rate their rod differently, becuz when you mentioned ML, ppl immediately think about soft whimpy stick. I have 2 Shimano both rated M but one with 1/8 - 3/8 oz another one 1/8-1/4oz. I have used the first one for WP 90 but hell no to second one. Another thing is your rod rated XF tip which most of the ppl would said no for any treble lures. I also have success using my MH/XF with WP110. I set my drag a little on soft size when fish for treble hook lure.

How to detect a bite?
Drag your jig across the bottom and try to feel different tap between rock, gravel, weed, mud. Pay attention to how sharp the tap feel while dragging , it should corporate with how fast you drag. Any sudden tap that a bite. This is the easiest bite to detect, there are more but it need experience in the water, mostly happen when you feel unusual while reeling or lifting the rod. Another thing is try to have part of your hand at least on rod bank where you can feel any vibration from bite. If you can lay the line on your finger that the best way to feel it. Line is also important, big mono line, cast out far, you would feel less compare to braid or fluorocarbon or even copolymer. Make sure no slack on the line, you can feel more vibration when your rod is in lifting position.

Warm Weather Night Fishing Question
It was super hot still 82 outside, end up stay out for only hour and a half. I caught two decent size, one on wacky rig and another chatterbait.

Warm Weather Night Fishing Question
I also plan to fish a few hours tonight (after 12:00PM) instead of tomorrow morning, since it will hit 106 tomorrow. The jerkbait is a good choice but I'm scared of those treble hook. Like you even I see some activity on surface but none ever take my topwater. I usually get lucky with Fluke when jerk up high in water column but detect the bite is a lot harder when I cannot see if the line move. I plan to do some wacky Senko tonight.

Filming Your Fishing Trips
I have 3 extra battery but only a few time that I change battery. I think becuz I'm too busy thinking about catching fish more than filming. End up using power bank as my power source but this make my knock off GoPro not water proof (cannot use case when add accessories)

Kayaks
I also fish from both kayak and boat and also got kayakers paddling in my casting target mostly from shore. I just wait until those kayakers paddle past my spot and keep on my fishing, no harm no foul. I don't think it would take too long for them to past and I don't think it is right to ask them to paddle around you. Sometime we need to take a brake from fishing and say some nice thing to others.
