When snagged pull or cut?
I guess you are bank fishing, otherwise you would talk about plug knocker already. Bank fishing and plug knocker wouldn't you do any good. I only able to retrieve my lure back just a few times when snag really close and lost it afterwards. I also using my whole rod as knocker when the lure is close(you can damage your tip guide this way, I did this only for expensive lures) like @NYWayfarermentioned leaving a lot of line in water is not good, it will become a whole pile underwater and snag other lure even more, and birds might get tangle with the line(I rescued a duck with line tangle his foot before). I'd pull and hope your line brake at the knot, 15lb Flouro is nothing, you can brake pull with ease without special tool. Point your rod tip straight to the lure, hold your thump tight on the spool, quick hard pull and duck.

Talk me out of buying a Shimano Casitas
Don't buy Shimano.

Why do you fish for bass?
Because that only fish in town that I can catch without touching slimy worm and stinky bait. LOL I don't know how to catch crappies.

Latest Catch Pics Thread
Take a little break from my Jig fishing (so far only 7 caught). Went out early morning and water look good for some whopper plopper, so I tied on and caught two. After awhile with no bite, it seemed the fish want something slower, so I switched to my faithful Zoom Magnum fluke. Caught either 3 or 4 on this one. Video add***

Older Shimanos
@The BassmanMe too, That how I getaway with buying new reel. I know it not even close for the price of chronarch and bantam, but at least I can tell my wife "honey I sold one reel can a buy a new one to replace it" lol. And I also have a source that I can buy brand new Chronarch to replace the old one for not much more than what I sold it. I intend to use bantam for top water and chatterbait since I'd need bigger line capacity than my 70 and 50e.

Older Shimanos
Seriously, I prefer the 200K over 200e in general fishing and also prefer 70 over 50e in casting. I still like my 50e series but sold my chronarch 50e for this one.

Other Species Latest Catch Pics Thread
I think you are right. I got a whole bunch of nibbles almost every cast in this location(I don't fish here very often) and I don't see bass around either.

Catfish hit my Jig. I though it was good size bass, it hit me three time until third cast that I got him(almost pull rod of my hand).

Older Shimanos
I sold my old Shimanos and bought all new shimanos LOL.

Spinning for salt vs casting for fresh
A lot of my friend in Thailand converted from conventional gear to spinning gear because they can cast lure out as hard as they could and don't have to worry about backlash. So it is not really a must for casting gear it just a choice obviously a popular choic one. If you enjoy spinning gear I would say why not, spinning is not only for finesse but can do as much as casting gear or even better in some situations.

Interesting Catch
@corn-on-the-rob my question is did you glue the lip back to that bass? Lol

How to minimize gut (deep) hooks? Lure type; hook set timing
I killed a bass today on Jig, all it take was only 5 seconds that I did not set hook fast enough. It was not gutted hook but the hook penetrated inside next to throat and the fish was bleeding, I didn't see this until I took the fish home. To remind everyone out there set hook fast it didn't take long for bass to swallow your lure.

Finally found a jig bite!
good job man. I too had not fish with jig very often until last Sunday and caught one good size. I pledge to myself to catch at least 10 bass with jig until I pickup other lures (except at night or where I know I'd loose that jig quick.

Selling fishing stuff online
Do you want most money? or do you want more buyers but you might have to eat the cost of shipping? For most money, you should look for local buyer claiglist, offer up Facebook market place might be the way to go. More buyer, eBay but a lot of steps and fee. BR's flea market but you have to consider shipping cost as well. I'd try to sell locally first then BR'a flea market.(I don't do eBay and I don't sell rod if shipping involved) Shipping cost for 1 reel could be from 8-13 bucks, rod might be even more.

Shaky head recommendation needed
I stock all sizes of owner ultra ball head (3/16, 1/8 and 1/16). These I use for various Elaztech plastic (TRD, big TRD, Hula stick and paddlerZ). I also stock some spot remover pro in 1/16 for other type plastic. This year I have not thrown any of shakey head yet but will definitely need when summer heat arrive.

Spinning vs casting for dropshot
I'll grab what available for me when drop shotting. Most of my drop shot weight is 3/16. I don't see any advantage of one over the other, I don't fish deeper than 15-20 FOW, but I more accurate on casting gear VS spinning. To me more important is plastic, I will dropshot smaller size plastic in shallow and up the size when fishing deeper.

Time to update the PB!
Congrat on PB and glad the fish made it out okay.

Loud splash noise when casting
Loud entry noise might spook the fish off but sometime they do call the fish in to investigate. many time I got bite on whopper plopper 110 after making big splash and pause for a few seconds. Your 3/8 oz bullet weight with 7" worm shouldn't make a lot of noise no matter how hard it land compare to other type lures, don't worry about it too much. Or you could try lighter weight 1/4, 1/8 and I think those are better for bank fishing.

Garcia 5500C3 Reel - Good to use as a swimbait reel?
You can use your 5500c3 no problem, I don't see any problem of line capacity, but it just a little inconvenient, I think old 5500c3 come with push button instead of thumb bar release. I did use mine, Abu 5000 series BPS exclusive with thumb bar release and had my buddy used my 6500c3 before.

Which Swimbait Real to Choose?
It is very hard to find Calcutta 300 anymore only Cardiff and conquest. A guy here selling his Abu Garcia Morrum 5500c, that is very nice reel for swimbait if you don't mind used. Agree with @deepCardiff 300a is good or Tranx 300.

@GlaucusI would like to play a little bit of devil advocate here. First of all Imageshack required you to login, Postimage is not. Secondly there is bandwidth limit for free user, I'm not sure 10GB can get you how many view for hot link(link to direct image). Postimage is easy and simple but you surrender the right of whatever you upload there, but again you can choose to have image for such and such time. All of the free image host website CAN change their policy and start charging for uploading image. The result you have to pay or you got broken link where ppl cannot see any of your image (happened with photo bucket not long ago) im not a fan of any image hosting website. My main source of image is Facebook and here @ BR. I created Facebook account just to be my keepsake fishing photo in the meantime share(show off) with my friends and family around the world. Facebook is huge and a chance of them to turn around and bite you in the bottom is slim to none.
