Welcome Chris - right across the river from you in Independence KY- I Created a Monster
Had a neighborhood kid asking me for several days to take him fishing, after 3 years a damned up creek at the end of our road has turned into a pretty decent pond. I finally had a chance to take him yesterday but we couldn't get away until noon when it was over 90 degrees. I warned him "we probably won't catch anything it is too hot out right now." Whenever I take this kid I put him on my honey holes, teach him how to work the bait but being 90 out i wasn't expecting much. Within the first 10 minutes I had a 2lber on the bank. Neighborhood kid got skunked but he spent the rest of Sunday checking with me on what stuff to buy, knots to tie, what crankbaits to use. My new fishing buddy is hooked and I am positive the 2lber was the good karma from taking a kid fishing- Hello from Cincinnati, OH

Hello from NKY- Cincinnati fisherman and everyone else
Welcome aboard - I'm right across the river from you in NKY- Battery/Charger help
Fairtax it's a ProMariner ProSport 20 plus. The charger has designated banks for cranking and deep cycle batteries which I had hooked up correctly. also it "reads" the battery type you are using, flooded, in this case and charges accordingly. I feel confident I had a bad battery. I will find out this weekend for sure but have an extra battery on standby just in case. - thanks for the response- Battery/Charger help
Thanks Scott F gonna tackle it this weekend-- Battery/Charger help
Went out for the first time this past weekend. A week ago I "un-winterized" her and made sure everything worked, electronics, trolling motor, big engine cranked, etc. On Thursday we unplugged the onboard-charger and made the 4 hour drive to the lake. I dropped the old girl in the water only to have a dead cranking battery. Deep cycle batteries were fully charged and worked fine, the cranking battery was new last year? Any thoughts? THANKS!- Fishing near Myrtle Beach, SC
I am going to the same place in another week let us know how you did. I actually stay in Ocean Lakes and have always fished the ponds on the property there in the past - just little dinks in early morning, but enough to stay occupied. Big Scrooge and I would definitely be willing to venture out to look for something better- The Villages, FL
Fishballer06 - I fished 4 straight days, caught bass everyday, last day was best though brought in 9 in about 4 hours, nothing over 3.5lbs and nothing under 2lbs. Fished a green pumpkin Senko on a weightless T-Rig. I checked Google maps and I can't find a name of the pond. It is on Palermo PL, off of Chula Vista Dr sandwiched between a post office and the Lady Luck Driving Range. I guess I could update my new PB to almost 3.5lbs but heading on a trip this weekend to TN, hope the new PB is bigger than that.- The Villages, FL
Thanks for the input I am limited on how much/what gear I can take so this helps!- The Villages, FL
Just found out I will be bank fishing many of the small lakes and ponds in The Villages in Florida the first weekend in February. Any tips/advice would be greatly appreciated Thanks- Hello from Kentucky
Been fishing most of my life as I was fortunate enough to have family with property on a lake in Northern Kentucky but nothing too serious. I usually get to take a trip or 2 per year with Big Scrooge (dad) but that's been to Erie for Walleye or an occasional Striper trip. Then in April of this year Big Scrooge and I went to Lake Barkley for 5 days of nothing but bass fishing. BIG MISTAKE! it's the itch I can't scratch. Now if I am not coaching my kids sports teams I am thinking about fishing, Watching fishing, reading about fishing, learning about fishing, planning the next fishing trip, which is tomorrow for Smallies at Norris Lake. It's so bad Mrs Scrooge can't wait for me to leave, she is tired of hearing about it - Hopefully I have some updates and pics when I return next week - New guy eager to learn
