(unofficial) results from a yesterday's(Saturday) 18 boat tournament out of Army Rec Center---1st place, with 2 fish, didn't even have to weigh their TWO in to get the winner---2nd place weighed in ONE fish---other 16 boats had ZERO fish.....Looks like?? 3 or 4 days of 15 degrees took its toll???............................. Anyone have a better report??..........tia Edit:------grandson & I fished outta Big Bass yesterday(NOT in the tournament)from 10 AM till 4 M and did not get a bite-----3 weeks ago we caught 10 & kept 6 basically out of same fishing area-----but---looks we would have tied for 3rd??........lol

(Posting this @ 5PM Friday Sept 1)...........What will the water level do tonite???---NO rain (X ~ 18 hours?), sunny all day today, & 11 gates open @ 6 feet each with both gens. going 24hrs/day....Ought to start dropping???ie lake level was 173.7' @ 6AM this morning... Thinking bout going up either tomorrow or Monday(probably Monday better?????---but weather may change by then---ie start raining some).............TIA......... EDIT..........talked to Big Bass Marina a while ago & they said water probably dropped "a couple inches today"------so planning on going up Monday to fish, should be a little lower by then--& dropping ?faster??..

This morning was going to ask & didn't have the time to post it----about upgrading my dinks I've been getting------- 'Wonder if it'd pay to go deeper--------ie 20+ feet of water(was catching them cranking in 7-12 foot) & going to a 5 or 6 XD and CR'ing them deeper....Wonder if this'll help?????............

Got a question-------went last Thursday(started fishing by ~4 AM --to beat the heat & 'take advantage' of the end of the full moon)....HA, didn't catch anything till 6:30 AM, well after good lite.......Wound up catching 10(fished till noon)----ALL but 1 were dinkers(under 10-11 inches)-----the one keeper was a 4-7 though.......Caught mainly on RTs(chrome & crawfish color) & crankbaits(mainly sexy shad 8 to 10 ft runners).........The 4.5 was caught on a 10.5 Ole Monster junebug worm around 10 AM.....lol, fished that rig HARD for the next hour or so without another hit..... NOW the Q-------------how do I 'upgrade' these dinkers?????????/......tia..........

Hey-------------in that big bass pic---------- I know the guy in the background on the right side-------he owns the local(DeRidder) bait store ---called the Tackle Box(btw, his last name is Box!!).......I'll try & find out more about this catch......... EDIT:...........gunna guess that's being weighed in @ Big Bass Marina-----he(Box) has several tourneys there each year & they had one this past weekend(there---ie Big Bass Marina).........

Seem to do a lot of that on TB----------that's one of the reasons I enjoyed the GoM when I fished there weekly, could hammer down my twins & get wit it(when the seas were below 4').............

(sorry for the hijack here)------but---------by chance-----did any of the pros this past weekend happen to find any of the stumps/UW structures & tear up anything, -like lower units/props etc??????.........Just sitting here wonderin'.......
