  1. I don't remember if my spool is perforated or not. If it is then I'll tie it that way. Thanks.
  2. Sorry for late response. I returned the line and exchanged it for 50lb test with I think 12lb Dia. I have heard of some filling the reel with part mono then attaching the braid to that. Is it worth doing or should that be avoided?
  3. So maybe I'll keep it for my ultra light spinning rig. I just spooled it with 4lb mono but I already bought it so may as well use it. Tin fore on the 50lb raided.
  4. I bought a spool of spiderwire line today and before I use some of it I would like to know if the ratings are really what they say. It states 15lb test 6lb Dia. equiv. I got the 300' spool for $12.84. I plan on using it on my bait casting rod. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Spiderwire-EZ-Braid-Superline-Line-Spool-300-Yards-0-008-Diameter-15-lbs-Break-Strength-Moss-Green/21578718
  5. I settled on this box for my lures. It holds the 3.5" in the smaller cavities and 4.5" in the larger ones perfectly. This is a Plano 3700 series model 2375002. https://photos.app.goo.gl/8c3EMF3QYvtq1V916
  6. Thanks. I will see if I can find them locally. If not I'll order them online.
  7. I have some of the 3.5 and 4.5" jointed swimbaits I purchased recently and want to know what's a good storage system for lures of that size. I've looked at a few sites but I'm not sure if the ones I have looked at will accommodate the lures.
  8. Yeah I don't think the bass are gonna care if they have grapes or strawberry for lunch. LOL!
  9. I'm thinking that if it swims nose up, then a small weight at the front should fix that. But then it will sink faster.
  10. Has anyone ever noticed a difference in using the fruit scented worms as opposed to non scented? Were they better?
  11. I like the bags as they can hold a lot but like the durability of boxes.
  12. I was looking for a better storage system than my flambeau 7 tray hip roof box and came across this one from a Google search 'crank bait storage'. The Plano 7771 box holds much more than my old one. Bass pro has them for $82 but I found it at academy for $54. Now I need to find the perfect box for my soft plastics. https://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/plano®-guide-series-boxes-pro-system-set
  13. Walmart has the strike king non branded spinners for $1.
  14. I couldn't help myself. I loaded up on them yesterday. https://photos.app.goo.gl/U35FLnuD4vZ61mjA9
  15. I hope the rod is ok. If not I hope academy will take it in exchange for a better one.
  16. I bought a zebco combo tonight. It has a 7' rod and an 808 reel. Not sure about the weight limit.
  17. FYI. They have the 3.5" and 4.5" on sale for $2.99.
  18. I have a 7' medium heavy rod that I will use. I don't remember the brand but it's blue and white from Walmart. Might be a Shakespeare.
  19. My apologies. I have the 4.5" lure. I will update the original post. Will a zebco 404 handle this weight lure and will 12lb mono be fine?
  20. I bought one of these at academy sports today. It's the 4.5" version. They had them on sale for 25% off. I got it for $4.80 or so. What is an ideal rod length and line type for this lure? https://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/h2o-xpress-jointed-sunfish-35-in-swimbait#repChildCatid=22567
  21. I've been using this reel for a little while and love it. I'd like to keep on lovin' it so I'd like to know what is the best way to care for it? Should I simply blow it out with compressed air and dab a little oil on the part that drives the line winder spooler mechanism? How often should the reel be opened and greased?
  22. I have added photos of the finished throttle mount to my album. I think it turned out very well. I'm even more happy that I won't ram my hip bone against the corner of that eyesore of a bracket any more. I used the original bolts to attach the throttle to the bracket and used #10 stainless sheet metal screws to attach it to the boat. The bracket was formed from 1/8" stainless plate. https://photos.app.goo.gl/rDPd8FBEHq8zNkAC8
  23. Update: I recently had to repair a bend in my trolling motor bracket and in doing this, I discovered that the triangular area where it mounts has wood underneath. I have no idea how they got it there but it looks good. I have taken video of the underside of the front deck from the bow rearward and saw no wood. This is good news to me as I really didn't want to deal with trying to cut wood parts out. I still have not heard back from a website that I inquired about the thickness of the carpet they sell. I will seek information from another company. I do not want to purchase carpet only to find out I got the wrong weight. At this point, it is still up in the air as to whether or not I will do this but more than likely, I will. I'm thinking that it will probably take place during a time when I will not be fishing very much and want to give myself about a month to finish.
  24. I did a thorough investigation on the wood in my boat. I found that the front and rear decks contain no wood. There used to be a piece under the front deck and probably the rear but that was just for the pedestal seats. There is now some kind of poly type material. This will make the re-carpet job a bit cheaper. I still haven't made my mind up on if I will do this job but it will not be any time soon. I'll probably fish out of it until early fall when the temps are mild and it's not either icy cold or blazing hot.
