Best way to catch bluegill
Sorry I forgot to mention. Throw a 1/32 jig head with a curly tail grub. Like when fishing for Crappie, if there is no visible structure look for vegetation, like grass, or low hanging trees. If you are fishing in the winter they may be in deeper water. If so I try to keep my jig head near the bottom.

Finding clear water
I agree with Lonnie G. I don't know the size of the body of water you are fishing but water clarity is all about exposure. Rocky bottoms, deep areas and places protected from the wind will be most clear. I fished my home pond today and the clarity is chocolate milk. 15mph winds, dirt and leaves on the bottom and no long protected creeks or pockets. Less than an inch of clarity and its 50 acres.

Best way to catch bluegill
Depending on when and where you are trying to fish for them. When is a big factor like bass. I try to find cover like a low tree or dock. Use a light spinning rod and light line, like 4lb flouro. Cast it like you would larger lures. Keep your rod at 45 degrees and vary your retrieve speed. Bluegil would be a sharp bite or multiple taps and Crappie is a very light bite and will usually run with it. Are you fishing from a boat or the bank?

Skills and Strengths?
A good skill of mine would be pitching. Nothing feelings as good as that perfect on target pitch and your lure enters the water with zero splash. That and retrieving lures from trees. Not even my own. I have a skill of leaving a lake with more tackle than I brought.

Catching larger fish in a school of dinks .
WRB, This is a great point and an interesting way to look at larger fish. Most people speak about larger fish being solitary, sitting off by themselves. But I never thought to look at it as them being left alone by smaller fish out of fear.

Tubes
PowerTeam Lures has a tube called the Food Chain Tube that floats. 2 different sizes. Not sure how you are trying to use it but NetBaits Paca Craw is also a tube style craw. Its a craw thats hollow down the middle and floats. I have also heard of people packing these with alka seltzer. Random fact.

What Lure Did You Catch Your Personal Best On?
4.75lb largemouth on a wacky rigged senko in watermelon/red flake. First real big fish...thought it was a log.

New from Central VA
Hi everyone! I've been reading BR and fising since 2015. Normally fishing for Largemouth but will occasionally go what whatever will bite from panfish to bowfin. Fishing the areas surrounding Richmond Va like the James, Swift Creek and local ponds. Hope to be able to contribute from my learning experiences.
