Seaguar Trout/Steelhead?
Yes, you're probably on the right track with the colder water thought. Yup, thanks.

Seaguar Trout/Steelhead?
I guess I know why my thread got moved but I was asking about fishing line, not fish. Thanks a lot.

Seaguar Trout/Steelhead?
Yes, I mostly fish for stream trout, 2-3, pounds maybe, 7" ultra light rod. the Seaguar Trout/Steelhead is only a couple of dollars more than Trilene XL for 10 yards less line, but it is 100% fluoro. Yes, they sell it (in the store I go to) as a 100 yd spool for 10 bucks. Maybe 11. Trilene XL is $7.99

I don’t like Abu...
There is a video on Youtube of a guy showing he can cast super-light lures with a Black Max. Haven't tried with mine yet but I thought it was interesting.

Seaguar Trout/Steelhead?
I know this is a bass fishing forum but have you tried Seaguar Trout/Steelhead fluorocarbon line? What do you say about it? I'm wanting 6 pound test for trout fishing.

Containers for Gulp Plastics?
Do you have a good idea for the Berkley Gulp type lures that are wet from the scent they pack at the factory? The plastic bags from the factory leave a lot to be desired as far as durability and leak resistance. I'm not sure a Ziploc bag would suffice. Is there a vinyl bag offered for this?

Rainy Days?

Rainy Days?
How well do you usually do on overcast days where the temp is cool and it's kinda sprinkly rainy? How much depends on time of year and the barometer? I tend to not go out on those days but I'm feeling like I'm missing out. What do you say?

Would you dive into the water to retrieve a fishing tool thats NOT a rod or reel?
NOT diving in, but I have been in waist deep water to get a nice pair of sunglasses and once for a pair of pliers. That was more like "wading" than diving, AND I could see the bottom too. NOT gonna go in blind with snapping turtles in the pond!

Keeping a kit in your vehicle?
Ummm....., ok.

Keeping a kit in your vehicle?
Do you keep a tackle box and rod in your vehicle for fishing opportunities that pop up unexpectedly? I have a medium 2-sided Plano organizer box and a Zebco telescopic rod with a small Shimano spinning reel spooled with some 6 pound fluorocarbon line. I have some Mepps and Panther martin spinners, some marabou jigs, some beetle spins, baitholder hooks and split shot, a few soft plastic bugs and a folding trowel to dig up a couple worms if I want. I keep it all zipped up in a small nylon gear bag zipped on the back seat floor. Several times I have been traveling and come across a nice stream or pond and have caught quite a few bass and panfish there. It's a fun break in the monotony of traveling if you have time to stop for a bit and wet a line.

How Many of You Cut School to Go Fishing?
Once I got to be old enough to go on my own, I cut probably 3-4 times a year. Most definitely on opening day of trout season. Others too. Part of the reason I graduated HS with a C+ average.

Which knot do you tie in lines like 20-30 lb mono and fluoro for lures and swivels?

What are the real differences in these three lines? Their website seems to say the same things.

Disposing of Old Fishing Line?
What do you do with old line? I put it in a big ZipLoc bag and take it to a recycle box but they are getting hard to find now (!)

Am I alone?
I just bought a 7' UL spin rod the other day. I dont need one, I already have one. Didnt want to spend the money, but when I picked it up, looked it over good, my hand just cramped shut and I could not put it back on the rack. Dang it, I hate when that happens! Now I have to buy a reel for it too! Funny thing is, I do more fly fishing than UL now. Never know when that might change. I gotta find a kid that really wants to fish. So now I'm up to 15 rods of different types and 8 or 9 fly rods, one Tenkara rod and a couple cane poles too. Geez.

Targeting bass that are chasing blue gills?
I would try just outside the "bluegill zone" so to speak. Near them but not where you will be getting nothing but 'gills. Might have to hunt around a bit and look for a point or drop off and try a bit deeper, change to a spinnerbait or something other than a "minnow" lure.

What is the correct Yucatan knot?
Yes, of course, but I'm referring to the 2 different versions of the Yucatan knot and are they both viable or will one fail.
-
What is the correct Yucatan knot?
I'm seeing two different versions of this knot. Some tie a loop knot in the BRAID, wrap it around the mono leader, put the mono through the loop and cinch it. Others make an open loop in the MONO (no knot), wrap the mono loop around the single strand of braid, put the braid through the mono loop and cinch it. Which way is correct? Will both ways work or will one fail because it is tied incorrectly?

Best Knot For Leader to Braid ?
What is your favorite knot for nylon or fluoro leaders to braid? Would the Uni to Uni work well for both?
