  1. Learning to trim the motor isn't that hard, You basically start with it down and as you go along you "slowly trim up" little at a time, You can actually feel the boat come down in the front and the steering becomes easier and your MPH will increase. You know if you over trim because the boat will start to Porpoise " front end will start bouncing up and down " when it does this or starts to go slower you have over trimmed. Just do this in Small increments till you get the feel of it.
  2. Tough question for us to say, You are talking about 2 VERY different boats here. Fiberglass VS Aluminum, They will both ride and fish differently. Would be better for you to research the characteristics between them and see what one suits you better. Aluminum boats are very light and the wind really blows them around where a fiberglass boat is much heavier but more stable. One may require more maintenance than the other or can go places the other cant... There are so many variables to consider before making the choice between the 2 different types.
  3. Wow I didn't realize that ! Here in Upstate New York they Tax the living snot out of us and EVERYTHING must be registered yearly !!
  4. Another thing that will bring big used boat prices is supply and demand. If you live in an area that doesn't have a lot to choose from used, that will get people willing to spend more. Also people start high so they leave themselves room to work down to what they actually wanted in the first place, and at the same time you think you got a great deal because you worked him down so far.
  5. Now those trailer wheels... They HAVE to match !!! I'm just kidding lol
  6. Hey guys looking for input from people that have used BOTH the Pflueger Supreme and the Supreme XT. Is there a noticeable difference between the 2 ? I have 2 of the Supreme 30 models and love them so far. I'm looking to get another, but wondered if its worth it to spend the extra $$ for the XT model ? I'm not concerned whats better about the components but more of how it works and feels compared. Thanks for any input !
  7. If it comes down to just the transducer why not sell it on ebay and buy the correct one ? Just a thought.
  8. I have been wanting ( needing ) to get the Ulterra but have held off because of the price for now, dam that thing is expensive !!! They never seem to have sales on it either and everyone seems to be at full retail.
  9. You may want to look again at that, Its advertised even lower now for the spring classic sale at 449 !! Plus you get the triple crown points free installation and other bonus bucks !!
  10. I like how that one curves down with cushion ! Does it seem to hold its form and not fatigue out after hours of use ?
  11. They have a plan, kind of like stores do with black Friday sales, Create all that demand and get people ready to by the boat but when they get there, its not available. So they end up buying a model close to it that they have plenty of... Its very strategic on their part if you think about it !!
  12. Hey guys I'm looking to find the most comfortable pedestal butt seat out there and get opinions on what you use or recommend. I currently have a "Bass Pro Shops Point Man Pedestal Butt Seat" and find it doesn't keep me comfortable for very long with my back and rear. Seems like the cushion gets fatigued quickly and I just feel the plywood edge after a short time. This is what I have in the picture.
  13. My opinion is the manufacture will always be very conservative on the numbers to cover their self.
  14. I have a Dark Blue GMC Sierra and hate the color now, It looks great when just cleaned and waxed but just a small amount of dust or I drive in the rain and it looks like crap and dull !! Its very high maintenance and shows everything, I just cant do it anymore with my back, I would go silver all day long, very low maintenance !
  15. I have a battery question to go along with getting the Ulterra 80 lb. I currently have a 12 volt system and will be converting it to 24 volt. Am I ok to keep with the group battery size 24 or should it be 27 ?
  16. Could you PM me the company ? That's good to know there are less expensive places to buy this from, man that thing is expensive ! Thanks
  17. Hey guys, I want to hear any positive/Negative things on how you feel about your Ulterra trolling motor. I wasn't looking to spend all that $$$$ but the more I thought about it, the more I realized Its the best way to go given the disability I have with my back. It literally solves every issue I have now with my current setup ! I Would also like to hear any tips you have learned along the way you could pass on from installation to use. I think I will pull the trigger when BPS has their spring classic event and hope it qualifies on the triple crown bonus buck. It seems there isn't a place to get them any cheaper than the MSRP.. Thanks Guys !
  18. The more I looked into that Ulterra trolling motor you suggested the more I'm realizing this is the only way to go in the end for me. I think you are right about it being " Liberating " !! This would allow me to go by myself with no need for help, and the ability to never have to touch anything but a single button anywhere on the boat and never fight the wind with my body all twisted sideways again with that lock position feature ! Wow the cost is ridiculous but it will actually solve every problem I would have with my disability, Yes that's Liberating ! Now I have to see if Bass Pro will have it on sale this upcoming spring classic event. I cant find it at a reduced cost anywhere...
  19. Yes that DIY lift assist is just what I am looking for as there is zero budget for a 1000 $ trolling motor upgrade at this time ! Now just to figure out the best shock to use and if 2 is better ? Would love to here from people that have personally done this successfully. I guess if this route doesn't help then I will have no choice but to look into the trolling motors suggested. Thanks guys !
  20. Hey guys, I was wondering if there is a lift assist devise out there made for a Minn Kota trolling motor ? I know they make one for the Motor Guide call the T-H Marine G Force. I need something like this because I can no longer lift my trolling motor up and down, I have degenerative spine with 11 disc herniation's but I don't want to give up my bass fishing just yet its all I have left I can do !! If there is a DIY setup out there someone has done I would be willing to check that out also. Thanks for your help !
  21. That's what we call the "Willy Wonka" conditions ! Beware !!
