  1. 22 Aldebaran BFS on a 7'6" light Cashion Icon.
  2. I used my MH-Fast and a 130 whopper plopper earlier this year and could ski 3-4 lbers on that, but i got into a 7lb northern pike who took me into the weeds. That was actually a fight. Hoping to get into the 5-6 lb bass and 10lb northerns this week with this XH-F and the 190. Fingers crossed.
  3. St Croix Black Bass 7'10" XHF. 80 lb braid and 130lb flouro leader I made on a Tranx 301b xg. Basically wanted to throw 190 whopper plopper for bass and northern pike but it's going to also be my bank musky rod.
  4. I’d probably have the hardest time getting rid of my 2500 ci4+. I just got the 1000 size for crappie fishing but haven’t used it yet. Hope it’s just as good. I like all of my baitcasters a lot, but I’d probably keep the MGL Metanium it I could only keep one. Probably just for the cool factor.
  5. My combos from left to right... Avid UL/F with 1000 CI4+ LTB M/XF with 2500 CI4+ LTB M/F with Met Mgl Avid X MH/F with Chronarch CI4+ Avid X H/F with Curado K I am happy that I am able to call these mine.
  6. I tried it on my UL when I was having bad luck crappie fishing and it felt like it was too much for that rod. That was on a 6'6" St Croix Avid.
  7. My buddy and I bought bought them and both had tight adjusters. Loosening the screw did nothing besides give the dial side to side play. Just turning the dial one or two times make it fine. Seems the tightness is actually stickiness in the mechanism, not an overtightned dial.
  8. I know people who carry $1000 folding pocket knives, people who shoot $25,000 OU shotguns, and people who carry $2000 purses. I think a $400 fishing rod or reel (which I do not own) seems like a bargain.
  9. Since this is my favorite thread on this forum, I probably should add to it when the chance arises. My new frog setup, thanks to Christmas gift cards.
  10. Thanks. That’s what I was afraid of! I might be stuck looking like a melon head once again.
  11. Well I really would like to get some 580g glasses someday. I tried to use the Costa website to see which frames would fit my gigantic head (8” hat) the best. I tried on Blokes at Cabelas becuase I thought they were the biggest, and while they weren’t tight, they looked narrow. Do they make anything wider, specifically outside to outside of the lenses. My normal glasses are 58, 16, 145 size for reference. Thanks.
  12. I keep the cardboard rod tubes that st croix sends my rods in and I take my reels off and keep them in their boxes, which are inside my tackle box. Not the most elaborate plan, but it's safe.
  13. I'm a wild man. I use the knife on my Leatherman or the knife in my pocket.
  14. The only reason I didn't was because a LTB can be hard for not much more if you play the online coupon game right from some of the big sporting goods stores. Other than that, I love my spinning Avid like crazy. I'm sure you won't regret it.
  15. Just curious, but do you remember what line you were using those times? I couldn't imagine trying to work a 20lber on anything short of 50lb modern braid
