  1. Thats up to you? If you feel it was a good deal for you I have one Lighting Rod it is an ok rod but it's like anything else you get what you pay for. And if your happy then thats all that matters. But compared to the $180.00 for a setyr or $120.00 for a Castaway then I would say for a quanity standpoint yeah good deal. But the rest is up to you.

  3. Dt's rock I love these cranks. My go to crankbaits. The Dt- 6 is my favorite in parrot and red craw. Not to mention they have a really nice finish on them for a $6.00 bait I think.
  4. http://www.limitlure.com/ THe scatter shad is flat out awesome. Plus they have awesome colors.
  5. I have a ton of rat- l - traps, rapalas, and so forth and I can't catch a fish on them to save my life any suggestions I figure I am not using them at appropriate times not to mention. I get discouraged easy. I know you guys are gonna make fun of me. But alot of times I never throw more than a jig and t- rigged super hawg. I catch fish shallow cranking but not on traps. Oh well help me out guys. My goal for 07 was to become more versatile. What are the best colors. I have a ton of them but maybe I am missing the best colors.
  6. Hey man I can't answer the jighead question but there is a guy on ebay Tony Kay I think sells jigheads I bought tons off him. If you want more info pm me and I'll pass the info along. I like the triple rattleback myself but now I am building my own.
  7. Well I am no jerkbait pro by any standards but here is a tip that worked for me. If you want to figure out a pattern to it hum a chorus of a song you know and most songs work to where you can sing it in your head or hum it you can just twitch at certain points jerk and pause. If that dosn;t work develope a cadence 123 and twitch 456 and pause count789 and 123 twitch 456 and you get the point you can adjust till you start catching them but then when you do catch them you have developed a pattern. Sorry it sounds weird but it works . I am just bad at explaining.
  8. Great article! Thanks for protecting our freedom so that we can still enjoy the comforts of our lives such as fishing. You are a true hero.
  9. Dirty water or dark days = Dark Colors Clear water or bright days = Bright Colors
  10. I don't know if they still make the Midas but I have 5 of those things I paid around $199.00 a piece for them. I wouldn't trade them for anything. I di break a cheap browning spinning rod but I had a bass ball up in the grass the first day I was fishing with it and a finnese worm and stupid me tried to muscle it out and the tip broke but they replaced it. So no harm done.
  11. Yeah Flw had one about a pro (name escapes me) who was jig fishing with a lizard as a trailer and he caught 3 or 4 fish like that while the flw guy was riding with him.

Hey guys my goal this year is to get better with the carolina rig. I am horrible at it but am trying to hone all of my fishing skills so that I can be very versatile. So heres what I got so far I understand the basic rig tru tugsten weight- for better sensitivity. Three foot to Five foot leader depends on situation. Then any plastic bait known to man and away you go. Seems easy but I suck it up. What about rod size- or brand? Line Size? Paticular Baits? Conditions? Thanks for all the help!

  14. Hey guys looking to stock up on Gambler plastics anybody got any on-line stores. I did a search but didn't come up with much.
  15. Another great things about tubes is there are many variations to. Tube craw- Lake Fork Craw Tube, Strike Kings - Wild Things are variations of the tube that may help to get the fishes attention if there is alot of fishing pressure by people throwing the common tubes. My 2 cents great post guys. I have 2 poles for strictly tubes they are my money bait year in and year out. I also agree the 4 inch usally does do alot better and I have even seen some 4 1/2 that looked pretty good.
  16. Not very close I am an hour south of Clinton lake 15 mins from champaign I wish I was closer it would be to fish with a fella like yourself man but a lil to far away. Any Recomendations though?
  17. Hi I am 23 and I am looking to join a fishing club or tourny trail anywhere around central Illinois. I live in Tuscola. Drop me a line anytime.

  19. Well I just got this thing in the mail bought it yeesterday. Quick service I can't complain this is a nice rod balance is ok I really think I may like the fact that it is only 5'-6". But I don't know not bad I guess.
  20. Hey I know this is the wrong area but what deep cranks would you recoomend to somebody looking to inhance those skills to start with. I have all Rapala's DT Series but really struggle to force myself to do deep cranking. All advice is appreciated.
  21. I appreciate your insite man I will look into that one. Some subjects are hard to get insight on.
  22. Anybody make there own jigs and spinnerbaits. I was wondering if anybody new of any good reliable parts dealers other than Jans- Netcraft.
  23. I personally like the Zoom finnese worms on a very small jighead they can get a bite when its dead. As far as a ribbon tail I like culprit stuff blk/ silver, red shad and fire and ice texas rigged. And lets not forget the trusty trick worm a favorite for flipping docks usally on a jig head. Carolina Rig I prefer a creature bait. But first and for most is a tube I catch more tube fish than anything else I slit the side of the tube that the hook is in and skin hook the other side. I got that off a show with Greg Hackney works awesome. The strike king bleeding shad watermelon is unbeliveable. Sorry for the book guys.
  24. Anybody use and like any of these rods I am thinking about trying out a few of them. Thanks Fellas
