  4. Right on! Walleye fishing is my first love!
  5. what @fishnkamp said. i troll for walleye all the time using bottom bouncers. i use a abu line counter reel. the daiwa suggested is also a good reel. as for the silvermax...i have one. i just started to target bass last year, so it was my first baitcaster. i have never found a need for the flippin switch. now its collecting dust thanks to my new daiwas! you dont really need to "cast" a bottom bouncer if trolling. i have a abu 6500LC. stay away from the alphamar
  6. my boat is a deep v, so i use a net most of the time
  7. make a long cast if your able to with your sideway sweep. then let out about 10 more feet of line. put a small piece of tape on the reel. reel back in. practice away. if you get a birdsnest, it wont be a big problem. helped me a lot when i was learning.
  8. the bait monkey is already pulling my arm to get ready for opener in may!
  9. thanks for the warm welcomes
  10. i live in the minneapolis area. ive always been a panfish and walleye guy. last year my buddy asked me to go frog fishing with him and it was a blast! i didnt have bass gear, so i bought a 7' MF daiwa aird x and a abu silver max off of craiglist for $40. using a booyah pad crasher, i had the time of my life. i caught a bunch and also missed a bunch. after a little research on bass gear, i realize my setup is/was not ideal for what i was doing lol. this site is very informative and helpful which makes it hard on my wallet. anyways, thanks for reading!
